Tips from Accorhotels.com
- When to go?
There are two periods in the year when the city as a whole is swept up in a whirlwind of festivity: first, during the Carnival in February, and of course for the celebration of the New Year. There are of course other events during the year, namely in March and October, when the weather is most pleasant.
- How to get around:
By day the best solution is the bus network (Onibus) which takes you through every major site in the city. Otherwise, keep an eye out for taxis, but be sure to pick one of the official cabs in the sea of yellow vehicles.
- Good deals:
Long before smoothies became all the rage, the trend was for fruit juice. Fresh-squeezed orange juice and a staggering variety of 100% fruit cocktails are served at just about every street corner.
