Welcome
- From the charming streets of the Ecusson to the Odysseum entertainment mall, Montpellier’s sun will be shining down upon you 300 days a year!
- The Ecusson district is the city’s historic centre; it is a great place to hang out, with many public squares and sumptuous villas, but also the Saint-Anne church and the Saint-Pierre cathedral.
- Get your fair share of chlorophyll at the Jardin des Plantes (“Botanical Gardens”), the Grammont Park, the gardens of the Esplanade, and of course the Domaine du Chateau d’Eau.
- Looking for some family activities? Head on to the Odysseum which boasts a Planeterium, an Aquarium, a bowling alley and an ice-skating rink! -
See, visit, discover…
Explore the history of the world’s food culture at the Agropolis Museum, or art history at the Fabre Museum.
You can admire the Saint-Clément aqueduct and the cityscape as a whole from the Peyrou promenade in the Chateau d’Eau domain…
Cross the Antigone district, a sort of Neo-Antique area designed by Ricardo Bofill, and stroll along the banks of the Lez for a relaxing afternoon. -

One of the best times to visit Montpellier is during the International Dance Festival in late June, or in mid-July for the Radio France Music Festival.
- How to get around?
Bus and tramway lines snake throughout the city, otherwise the Vélomagg’ system allows one to rent a bike for a short time and drop it off in one of the very practical Velomagg stations…

80 hectares of surface area and over 500 animals… The Parc Zoologique de Montpellier is free of charge and makes for a wonderful outing.
