Welcome
- Thirteen museums, seventy parks and gardens, and a staggering range of shops and boutiques… Scotland’s number one city has definite style, and locals have a reputation for being friendly and welcoming; what more can you ask for?
- Glasgow’s Golden Z is the pedestrian centre of the city, the business and tourist district where all the top brands and reputed independent stores have their main outlets.
- Enjoy tea and scones in the Willow Tea Rooms if you are looking for some authenticity (the buildings were designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh).
- When in Rome, do as the Romans do: many locals enjoy a healthy brunch on Sundays, so take the family to a restaurant or hotel for a treat. -
See, visit, discover…
From the top of the Lighthouse you command a view of the cityscape as a whole: see the Kelvingrove Fine-Arts Museum, the Cathedral, the Necropolis, and the Victorian cemetery.
Admire the masterful designs of a local architect: the Glasgow School of Art Building, renamed the Mackintosh Building, but also the House for Art Lover and the Mackintosh House.
The People’s Palace will teach you all there is to know about the city’s history, and the nearby Victorian greenhouses are oases of peace and tranquillity… -
