The city of angels, between reality and fiction.

The exhibition "Los Angeles, a fiction" presents the work of 34 artists from Los Angeles and 84 authors, of various ages, each of whom construct and deconstruct the city in their work:

artists and authors participating in the creation of a Fiction. Major artists (John Baldessari, Larry Bell, David Hockney, etc.) rub shoulders with the younger generation (Ryan Trecartin/Lizzie Fitch, Alex Israel, etc.).

Created entirely from the exhibition, the book "Los Angeles, a fiction" presents a subjective selection of authors who, over a 50 year period, constructed the city. By weaving together the tales and images, the exhibition strengthens Los Angeles' fictional status. Yet isn't this a reality?
