Best Craft Beer Bars in Bangkok

Looking for a Craft Ale in the Thai Capital? Follow Our Guide

The booming craft beer scene has locals flocking to beer bars in Bangkok like Hair of the Dog for unique brews instead of the usual Singha and Chang.

Best craft beer bars in Bangkok

The craft beer industry has been booming around the world, and it’s no different here in Bangkok! Once synonymous with brands like Singha, Chang and Leo, the local beer scene has evolved — craft beer in Bangkok has become extremely popular with locals and tourists alike.
Here are a few of the best beer bars in Bangkok to quench your thirst for an ice-cold pint of craft beer.

Changwon Express

With two outlets located in the heart of Bangkok, Changwon Express offers an authentic craft beer experience along with convenience. The ever-changing menu of beers might not be extensive, but you’ll surely find something new with each visit. The craft beers are carefully sourced and the owner offers both Thai and Korean craft beers on tap. You can also find Changwon Express’ own brews, the refreshing Asoke Pale Ale and a rich Chao Phraya Stout, at its outlets at Petchaburi MRT and Flowhouse.

To accompany its beers, Changwon Express whips up a great menu of Mexican-Asian fusion food, such as the popular kimchi taco and bibimbap.

Hair of the Dog

Don’t let Hair of the Dog’s somewhat unsettling haunted-hospital vibes scare you off — award-winning craft beer awaits! This bar is undoubtedly one of the best in town, with 13 rotating beers on tap and hundreds of bottles from around the world.
Its edgy watering holes, one located at BTS Phloen Chit and another at BTS Phrom Phong, are designed with a medical theme, featuring authentic surgical lighting and hospital beds that serve as tables.

Taproom

If you’re looking for a place that’s truly all about beer, you won’t go wrong with Taproom — it has an impressive 26 beers on tap at its Sukhumvit outlet and 14 at its Phaholyothin outlet, not to mention countless more local and international bottles of craft beer to choose from!
Add to that a cosy atmosphere and great music (there’s a live band on most weekdays!), and you have all the ingredients every craft beer lover needs for a great night out.

Wishbeer

Some may not know this, but Wishbeer, the start-up behind popular craft beer bar Wishbeer Home Bar, began as an online platform for alcohol delivery before growing its offline presence. Its online delivery service is not only helpful on days when you are too lazy to step out of your home, but also great for home parties as it offers a discount for beer orders over 4,000 baht.
Wishbeer today has four craft beer bars in Bangkok including its flagship Home Bar in Sukhumvit, perhaps its most popular outlet. At Wishbeer Home Bar, you will never run out of new brews to try, with 15 rotating beers on tap and hundreds upon hundreds of bottled beers to taste. The bar itself is situated in the middle of its warehouse, with scuffed flooring and no-frills furniture giving the space a rustic and cool vibe.

The Beer Cap at The Commons

Worn out after a day of shopping at the super-hip community mall The Commons? Refresh yourself with quality beer at The Beer Cap! Situated on the market floor of The Commons, this funky, beer-cap-decorated bar eschews big-name brands and offers an ultra-niche selection of rare craft beers such as Epic Escape IPA, Limburgse Witte or Holgate. Here, you will also be able to explore the mall’s other food stands, with a mix of local and Western cuisine, to find the perfect bar snack.

With so many unusual craft beer bars popping up across the city, Bangkok is definitely establishing itself as a must-visit destination for craft beer enthusiasts.
