We stayed here for two nights in late May to get over jet lag and have a quick look around Milan. The hotel was easy to find. We took the Metro yellow line From Milan Central to Crocetta staion and after a short 5 minute walk we arrived at the hotel. Uptown Palace is a very modern clean looking hotel. Staff were very courteous and helpful. The rooms are not large but still a decent enough size for us with two suitcases. Comfortable bed and great bathroom. I wouldn't describe the hotel as being in a tourist area but it was an easy walk to the Duomo and the numerous shops and restaurants adjacent to it. Breakfast was excellent.
Dear Bill3009, thank you for taking the time to write a positive comment about your stay at Uptown Palace. We are happy to know you enjoyed your stay. We are looking forward to seeing you once again in Milan. Kind Regards, Alfredo Petrone Operations Manager
We were very happy with our stay. The service was excellent, good breakfast and a good location. View of the Cathedral from our room was impressive. The only issue was with managing the room temperature,we could not lower it to 21 C.
Dear Garci279, thank you for taking the time to write a comment about your stay at Uptown Palace. We are happy to know you enjoyed your stay and we are looking forward to seeing you once again. Kind Regards, Alfredo Petrone Operations Manager
Hotel was very nice, clean, quiet, modern - what I was looking for. Location a bit out of the way. A good walk to the center if you are doing it multiple times a day. There is not much in the area for dinner, etc. There was a supermarket a few blocks away which was great.
Dear Vizma A, we thank you so much for your positive feedback. Our location is generally very appreciated: the hotel is located just 5 minutes walking distance from the city center. For dinner we suggest you to try our Uptown Restaurant: it is extremely elegant and modern and all our dishes are offered à la carte and prepared using only selected local ingredients. We really hope to welcoming you back soon to Milan. Best Regards, Alfredo Petrone Operations Manager
Stayed in this hotel for 4nights. The lcation is jstbright sine it is only 10 munites by foot to the duomo. Although there is nothing much to do, the room s more than enough to make you stay in this hotlel. Maurizio helped us in all our needs and was able to makethings happen. Would definitely stay again in this hotl if we go back to Milan.
Dear Silbayle, thank you, your feedback is very much appreciated, both for the time you have dedicated to leave your opinion about us and for your kind words. We hope to welcoming you back soon to Milan. Best Regards, Alfredo Petrone Operations Manager
The hotel has not gym, no swimming pool, and no wifi for free (charged 15 Euros in the room). The view was another high building... You cannot switch off the clim totally. I am more than surprise that this hotel is rated 4 stars.
Dear Guest, thank you for sharing your comments about your recent stay in our property . We are sorry that you did not find in our hotel the services you were looking for such as a pool or a gym. The Uptown Palace, as almost all the city hotels, does not have a pool , reason why is not listed in any hotel directory . In the meanwhile I am pleased to inform you that a gym will be available, hopefully, by next year. If you would have only reported it during your stay, we would have certainly provided a complimentary entrance to the Health Center of our partner hotel , the Grand Visconti Palace, just 2 km far from us, where you could have found a full equipped gym and a wide indoor pool. Rest assured that our focus has always been our Guests' satisfaction as all the wonderful comments we have received until now on Tripadvisor testify. Best regards Alfredo Petrone Operations Manager
The location is not bad, the hotel and rooms look new, the guys help you with the luggage, etc, however this is what we see from outside. From inside we see that the service in this hotel is below zero (for example in comparison with the same MGallery hotel chain in Zurich). Unfriendly staff. The room (junior suit) was small and full of dust. It is not "spread over more than one floor" as it's stated in the description. and was very small for the family. I was told at the reception that I need to pay extra 500EUR per night for an upgrade for Exec. suite, as they have just 3 of them (and as I understood, none of them was occupied) however the price for this type of room on the hotel website is appox 500EUR per night. Each day I had to remind staff each day to bring the tea/coffee/needed amenities as all the time they brought just some part of it. The breakfast is not very good and includes the same food from day to day. The breakfast zone is not very big so there could be queues (we got the last table on the 1-st day) Wi-fi is free at the reception and bar areas but at ~0 speed. If you need to have wi-fi in you room you need to pay (???) By the way, there is no Duomo view from the public areas of the hotel, it's not written anywhere but at all their advertisement you see a this view (from a president suite). I was told that only several rooms and exec+pres. suites have such a view, which is also very disappointing.
The rooftop terrace is not finished. It is still under construction, so the panorama picture on the homepage is rather on their wish list. This was a big disappointment as I expected a nice bar with a spectacular view. The hotel is a nice and clean design hotel that has a good location with walking distance to both Duomo and Navigli. My bad rating for cleaning was that the cleaners never took away our used drinking glasses or coffe cups. They however replaced with new each day and the room and bathroom was very clean (would rate cleaning a five)! Good breakfast but they wrote that they had a healthy corner which I could not see..
For this type oh hotel ypu can expect a better service and a smile !! but even at breakfast , service is rude , no smile and even you dont want to ask anything ! Guess in italy it is a sport to be rude with people . Very stiff employees and no door correct to get your luggage inside from the street , I got stucked in the middle of turning door!! I would be back at all , and the walk to the center is quite more than o.75 km . more like 1.3 !! anyway I am not a fan better to choose a typical hotel thank to stay in a cold atmosphere !!
Good location, front desk was helpful, room is nice but not big. We booked 2 deluxe rooms for 3 nights; but only one room gets complimentary bottled water on first night. This is quite unusual? The hotel should provide coffee mug instead of plastic cup. Breakfast is fine but not exceptional, no fresh fruit and no egg station , only scrambled eggs and some stone cold hard boiled ones.
I would like to congratulate the hotel for the superb stay!the room was amazing bed was super comfortable and spacious, water, expresso machine,my own private jacuzzi two rooms with 2 bathrooms the kids loved it we had our own private space once the sliding door was closed, the view was to die for, we even had a huge varanda to admire the duomo ,the restaurant serves delicious fresh pastas ,breakfast was great .highly recommend This hotel I would love to come back, thank you for the wonderful stay.
Receptionists at this hotel are all very friendly and helpful - I needed a taxi to the airport and the receptionist could see I had no Euro's cash on me so they got me a taxi that could take a card , They also allowed me to stay in the room over check in time and delivered a breakfast at the last minute. Excellent service and high quailty specification rooms. Will be going back. Grazie Mile! David
We were looking for a modern hotel close to the city centre and found this one thanks to other reviews on Tripadvisor It met all expectations, the staff were very attentive, carrying bags, calling taxi's etc. The breakfast which was included in our superior room rate was buffet style and included fruit, cereals, meats, cheeses, pastries, breads as well as hot food (bacon, sausage and scrambled egg). The room on the 12th floor had good views across the city although we were west facing so the only real landmark was the San Siro stadium. Am sure the east facing rooms would have had a view of the Duomo. The room had a modern walk in shower, with both a rain shower and attachment, two basins, toilet, bidet, hairdryer. Robes and slippers were also included. Beds were very comfortable and air conditioning was adjustable to your own needs. Room also included minibar with drinks and snacks (although a bit pricey), and room safe. Location was great for the price. Easy 10-15 min walk to Duomo and maybe 20 mins to Cordona rail station and Castello from where all buses tend to depart for trips. The open top bus tickets are great value for money and if arriving from Malpensa airport on Malpensa Express (via terminal 1 - shuttle bus connection from terminal 2), you can walk just around corner to Castello to pick up the red route bus that stops a few hundred yards after hotel, so saving 10 euros on taxi trip! Green route also goes right upto San Siro stadium and gives you 90 mins before next pick up to have tour around museum and stadium. We also arranged a day trip to Lake Como and Bellagio which was fab. Restaurants are varied - the canal area (just south east of hotel) is lively and has a young crowd and mosquitos !! The Brera area just to north east of Duomo (10 mins by taxi from hotel), is fantastic with some great restaurants - you have to try the saffron risotto ! Don't forget a trip to the rooftop of the Duomo (12 euros to access by lift), great views of Milan and the detail of the Duomo itself.
