Centrally located, spacious, good starting point to explore Catnia by foot. Close to main street but not noisy, facing a square (parking during working days) which turns to be a local food market on Sunday AM (great to visit & try/buy local cheese, olives, ham). If you're lucky having a room on the top floor with Etna view, you quickly forget about minor negatives...

Firstly, I have a Gold Accor card: I was not offered the free drink, which is in the Terms and Conditions for the loyalty card. My colleague had the same situation at another Mercure, the staff said they may give him the free drink voucher "as a favour"!!! - booked double room with mountain view for 2 people, the lady said booking was for 1 (I showed her the Accor confirmation for 2ppl, she made no eye contact, just shrugged her shoulders). Also there is NO MOUNTAIN VIEW on 2nd floor. - the building is old and quite dirty - location is noisy, lots of traffic, our balcony door did not close properly to block out the noise - breakfast was disappointing, I expected at least some fresh pastries, traditional Sicilian sweets and not frozen ones. The staff are not trained in customer service. In fact I think the entire hotel is unaware of what this is. - shower was dirty, old, mould growing on the side. The building has potential, it could be very majestic but it's just not looked after. - it was my birthday on the 2nd night there. Again, as a loyal Accor Gold status I expected something, at least an email or something at reception (other hotels that I stayed at ~2 months before did so) I wish i had not stayed there. There is no customer service and the value for money and our entire experience was poor and disappointing!
Dear guest, Thank you for your first ( at all ) comments by Tripadvisor. These comments are very important for us to be able to grow even if its are not comply with the real estate. We are very sorry to know we haven’t satisfied your expectations. Location noisy, in the breakfast there are sicilian fresh pastries, sicilian fresh cheese, fresh orange Jiuce. Kind regards GS
