I have stayed here a few times, the rooms are a good size and well appointed for a budget hotel, £40 for the night is a bargain. The staff are consistently polite, efficient and attentive; they obviously care about what they do. However... I usually eat out at the pub opposite but it was closed so I ate in the hotel restaurant I paid £14 for 'pie of the day' & chips which is best described as bland chicken soup with a pastry lid that deflates like a zeppelin when prodded with a fork! Really, really poor value no wonder the restaurant is usually empty. Even if it was priced at a fiver I would not have been happy.
Hi 67mark444, Thanks for the review delighted you enjoyed your stay and were well looked after by the team, I am sorry to read your comments about the pie, I assure you we don't use chicken soup as a base, if you had raised the issue with any of the team they would have been delighted to offer you an alternative. I hope on you next stay you will dine with us again and I'm sure you will have a much better experience. Kind regards Marie
Swift check in, lovely friendly staff, room was clean and comfortable bed, great choice of tv channels too. Good quality drinks in the bar and quirky lounge area. Also loved the horse and jockey theme running through this hotel.
Second visit and would visit again. Rooms clean and comfortable. Slept really well. Staff very helpful. Only negative was dirty tables at breakfast and stale muffins. Upgraded to a cooked breakfast and was very nice, fresh and hot.
Thank-you Kazmaniarocks for the fantastic review, I'm delighted you enjoyed the stay, sorry about the tables and muffins, this is highly unusual but I'm pleased you enjoyed the cooked breakfast. Kind regards Marie
We stayed here on return trip from Scottish lochs. We wanted to visit Liverpool so combined our stay with our road trip. We would return again with other family members next year. Great modern hotel with parking.
The hotel looks more professional than it actually is, they take a swipe of your card when checking in but yet you have to go back to reception every morning to verify if you have full English breakfast. Also they hadn't put sheets or duvets in the room, despite us booking the family room therefore needing the extra bed. Also each room we had booked was missing towels for everyone to be able to use the shower. When asking the following day for clean towels the cleaners who were servicing the departing rooms looked at us as though we shouldn't be asking for more towels. And no room service, so when our guests arrived they couldn't have tea/coffee in our rooms.
Dear r53bertyboo I am sorry to read that you didn't receive the standard of service we normally provide, thank-you for bringing it to my attention and I will certainly raise it with the team and ensure we do better in the future. Kind regards Marie
Stayed here this week on a 3 night break to spend time with family. This was our 4th visit here and we'll be happy to return again. The rooms are clean and comfortable ....also nice and quiet in our experience. There is a great selection available for the continental breakfast and it's possible to upgrade to a cooked breakfast for only £5. We didn't have time to try the lunch or dinner menu this time but the menu looked lovely. There is free parking and the staff are very friendly and welcoming.
Arrived to book in , member of staff was efficient and very friendly , sadly upon entering my room I found the view ( overlooking the bins ) not great at all , stayed here a view times , this has got to be the worse room ever to be placed in , went down to reception to see if I could possibly swap rooms , receptionist was great and moved me . I find this hotel great value for money , great location for work and the staff always friendly and happy to help .
Dear Elizabeth2471972, Thank-you for taking the time to review your stay, I am delighted that issue you experienced was quickly resolved to your satisfaction. I look forward to welcoming you back at some point in the future. Kind regards Marie Miller General Manager
