Trying to operate a "4 star" on the cheap

People at the reception - all very helpful, nice attitude. Cleaning staff - one very nice, one behaved very poorly - and also I couldn't understand what she tried to speak, as her French appeared to be limited. The room was nice, but it had blood traces on the ceiling from smashed mosquitoes, and the first evening we found a cockroach in the kitchen. Annoying that for 2 people we had only 4 coffee pods and 2 toilet paper rolls; not enough trash bags, and an insistence throughout the hotel upon sorting trash but without providing enough bins and/or bags to separate out the trash. I was upset to learn in my next to last day of stay that the night shift at the reception are not permanent / regular Accor employees and that they cannot help with a late check out request. On the first evening in the hotel I asked for a late check out - meaning there were 4 days left before our departure, and there should have been enough time to inform us about the hotel policies regarding night shift personnel and late check outs. I was told that "we will see on the last day", only to be told that "the supervisor" phoned in and instructed no late checkouts to be offered, as the hotel was fully booked. This is the second time in a row that I stay in an Accor hotel in which people are very helpful and behave nicely, but I get to feel and observe that Accor is trying to do things on the cheap and is possibly under-investing in its properties. This is very disappointing to me and I will be considering my future stays, as Radisson has proven more pleasant at similar price points. By the way, for a full hotel of this size, you should start both elevators.

At Adagio, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer and if you did not feel confortable in our hotel it's because we failed on our mission. To explain ourselves because you deserve to know what is going on and what we made to make our services better: The elevator was currently unavailable not because of the cost but because of a technical issue that was solved one week ago. For the staff, we have hotel members but when they go on vacations or get sick, we have to find solutions and ask for an extra. We try to always do our best to find the best extras to serve you. In fact, he didn't understood the instructions for late check out. We always provide late check out when we can, but it happens that sometimes when we are full booked, make a late check out is not possible because maids can't to more rooms and usually late check outs are at the same hour of the check ins. As much as coffee that are gifts for the clients. Finally, we had an issue with your previous room and did not sell it during few weeks to treat it well. Again we apologize for this situation. We appreciate your sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future. Know that when you need extra towels, toilet paper or something else , it will be possible for us to provide you during your stay the stuff even if we don't do cleaning this day. Nice apartment for business trip to Paris La Defence.

Dear Jaap Jan W., We very much appreciate your comments regarding your stay. Regarding cleaning, in adagio's policy rooms are cleaned every 8 days, you stayed two days so cleaning was not made. Also, please know that if you want to clean the room even if you stay less than 8 days you can ! You just have to inform the reception and pay extra fees.
