ibis Styles Brussels Louise: 3.0 out of 5 stars "not so stylish"

21st August 2013, panka121, Budapest, Hungary

Good: I booked a Tuesday promotion, so the price was really good.Location is good, it is a nice neighborhood, one night I even decided to walk back to the hotel and I felt safe. Breakfast was good. Wifi everywhere in the hotel. As a Platinum member I got an upgrade to Superior room. Room was big but unfriendly.Downside: The decor is really worn. Carpets needs cleaning, upholstery ripped open, walls need painting. The music center in my room was broken, could not use it.Not enough wall sockets to charge phone+camera.

ibis Styles Brussels Louise: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Brussels stop over"

13th August 2013, ADVICE6, Sydney, Australia

Overnight stop on the way from London to Koln. A tram trip from the Hbf which we took in the wrong direction but eventually pointed in the right direction by the locals on the tram. Convenient hotel although the sparsely decorated foyer gave a cold impression of place. Hotel amenities were as expected.

ibis Styles Brussels Louise: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Good value for money"

26th June 2013, joakimhenriksson, Rolle, Schweiz

For my trip the hotel was well located, in the city, but not right in the middle thus avoiding the night partyers' noise. Av Louise is one of the main roads in and out of Brussels so traffic is heavy outside BUT in front of the hotel the road dives into a tunnel which relieves a lot of the impact. There is a bus and tram station 1 minute walk from the hotel. There is the area of Chatelaine (restaurants) nearby and there is the Etang d'Ixelles (a very stretched pond) nearby. I went runnning in the mornings around the pond and one can do up and down runs on the roads between the pond and Av Louise. We had a very large room which was great for our 2 year old son who could run around by himself while we got ready to for the day. The room had been designed above expectation for this type of hotel. The beds are great. There is some noise from the road. There is no boiler or coffee/tea kit in the room and there is no iron or press. One can borrow an iron and board from the reception. The elevators feel a little outdated. I mostly used the staircase instead of waiting.Staff was very friendly and helpful.Breakfast is a buffet type, not huge, but certainly enough. The breakfast area is also designed. I liked the idea of one large area and the smaller sections including an Apple computer. The breakfast room has got a kids corner with crayons paper etc. I appreciated that there was no TV blaring out cartoons.Overall I am happy with the hotel. It is not a luxury hotel but the price is also far from a luxury hotel price and the they have made an effort on design (but obviously with a limited budget) which lifts it above the average hotel in this category.
