This hotel is conveniently located, close to all amenities and tourist attractions. The rooms are sizeable but the decor is dated and well worn. The is no in room wireless internet service, an extraction fan in the bathroom that could not be turned off and hummed away all night and the front reception service was very average, with staff more interested in selling add on services, such as breakfast and room upgrades. Overall not worth the money!

My stay at the Citigate was very good. The rooms were clean, newly refurbished and quiet.Just around the corner are a good selection of restaurants.Parking is a bit of a problem. The parking building is about 300m down the road.

I found the staff to be very pleasurable and helpful. The room was smaller than expected for an upgrade but was neat and clean. Food was lovely, central to shops and station, very convenient. I did like the calm atmosphere of the hotel, would return any time.

One night stay could not be faulted. Staff were very helpful on arrival and throughout the whole stay. Room was lovely, clean and stayed at the right temperature. Could not hear anyone else in other rooms. room size was good and shower hot. Towels clean and bed comfortable. Staying right in the heart of the city was excellent as well. Did not use room service or eat in so cannot comment on that but all in all a lovely stay and would definitely go again. even being across from Flinders st station did not hear any noise. We were on the 13th floor though.

"Accommodation, comfort and convenience whilst on a busy schedule"

During a busy trip to Melbourne where I had to attend a busy conference, as well as several meetings at different locations in the city I was after a good hotel / apartment that was central to several facilities, whilst enjoying the best that Melbourne has to offer.I tried CITIGATE on Flinders.The hotel is conveniently located in the business district whilst allowing a short walk to the convention centre (15-20 minute walk). Upon arrival the staff were very attentive, efficient and helpful. Breakfast was very good, suited my busy schedule. The room was large and roomy and allowed me to do work between meetings as well as earn some rest.The staff went out of their way to help with Taxis. They literally carried my luggage across busy Flinders street to ensure I caught a cab to the airport.Great place to stay, good value for money, great location, great staff.

"A night in the city"

The main flawe was the bed. One side was squashed against the wall so one of us couldn't read in bed and had to climb out to do anything.Site is good. Parking not too far away and they have a deal with the hoyel.Apart from that it was ok for one night.

"City View Room"

Having paid less than half the rack rate for the room we found it very good value. some fittings and the carpet were showing their age but there was nothing to complain about. The view was fantastic from the 11th floor with no more than the usual hotel noises from others and the street. Given the right price we would certainly consider staying here again. he staff were excellent.

Tired reception and lounge/restaurant area. Had a problem with gift voucher, initially rejected then accepted, Richard at reception was helpful. Would consider going back but maybe there is better value around town
