"Great location and a bit of luxury"

This tastefully refurbished hotel could not be more central, located on corner of Ann and Roma Sts, and within easy walking distance of both Central and Roma Street train stations. If you are catching a cab though, make certain you specify the address or you'll find the driver trying to take you to the other Mercure in Brisbane which is a considerable distance away.I stayed here last Christmas and found on this visit that the overall quality of the hotel has remained constant although the standard of the breakfast seems to have dropped a little. Apart from this, the staff are very accommodating a friendly and the hotel itself provides a lovely bit of luxury in the centre of the city.

This hotel is a good example of a dated (tired) building that none the less provides a pleasant stay for guests despite it's flaws. Who designs cupboard storage where there should be windows ? However this Mercure has done its' best with reasonable quality furnishings and fittings,and as long as you don't spend much waking time in your room all is fine. Bathroom is compact and utilitarian but of a good standard...so a great place to sleep and prepare yourself for the outside world...just forget the glamour (or go next door to the pullman...it's basically the same hotel, just a different shell )View management response »

Hotel was central, staff were friendly and helpful. Disappointed that we were on a non smoking floor but the linen used in the room seemed to have a an odour that smelt like cigarette. Not sure if all the linen is washed together. I would stay there again if visiting BrisbaneView management response »

I actually stayed in the Pullman not the Mercure as the Pullman has king sized beds and as I am almost 2m tall I prefer the bigger beds. Overal I found the reception staff pleasant and very helpful, although the reception is alway busy due to it servicing the two hotels. The room had all I needed and was clean and quiet. The location is probably the best feature of the hotel as it is as close to the Brisbane Mall as you can get and was easy walking distance from the sky train from the airport and Suncorp Stadium for the foot ball.

Overall good experience at the hotel staff was great, but accessing my Accor Advantage vouchers was a bit troublesome as we could not get them to print and then it took multiple phone calls to finally get them sent to the hotel, where they could eventually print them off.

My daughter and I stayed in Brisbane for the Weekend to see the Quilts exhibition at the art gallery the Mecure was in a perfect location for us it was within easy walking distance to the Gallery easily and also to the city shops and restaurants. We ate in Allure Bistro and our meal was great. The rooms were nice and clean maybe a little older than some I have stayed in but still very good. All around good weekend.View management response »

We stayed for two nights and throughly appreciated the convenience and location of the Mercure Brisbane King George Square. It is so close to the Mall where there is plenty of shopping and eating places. The hotel itself has had a makeover since we last stayed and I must say it looks fabulous. The room was spacious, bed comfy and pillows excellent. Our room was even made up on Sunday morning which I did not expect. We settled into the bar on Saturday evening for a few drinks which was relaxing & refreshing before going out to dinner. The hotel offered a discount on booking for the two nights of our stay which made it very affordable.View management response »
