Right from the beginning there were problems with the room door that would not open with the ecard. Maintenance and staff fixed the door three times, but on each occasion the door would not work. We were required to leave the door open. Staff were often not staffing the front desk. I had items that went missing from the room.

It was a disappointing stay. After staying at this hotel for at least over 50 stays between myself and partner, it was a bad start when reception asked if it was our first stay on arrival. Appreciate staff change but I would have thought as a repeat customer and as an Accor Gold member my details would be noted in the reservation system. The room was not clean to a standard we have had in the past, the bathroom/toilet needed a clean and I did have to get house keeping to come back to attend. The hotel foyers were always dirty with either old linen or room service trays, making the smell throughout the entire hotel very unpleasant. The restaurant service was not at all welcoming and again the restaurant looked like it needed a good clean. We had planned to dine in the restaurant, as were have done in the past, but decided against it for reasons previously mentioned. At breakfast we couldn't even get a coffee as the machine was broken, so again we went else where. Over all I feel the service and standard of the hotel has dropped considerably since we have started staying at the hotel so many years ago. We have noted similar issues on our more recent stays, have certainly seen a decline. We are getting to the point now where we have started to look for other options to stay. Which does sadden me as we have had many enjoyed stays over time. Regards ...

Poor housekeeping

Having had a poor night in the single bed, about 3am I stripped the sheets to find the bottom sheet finished about 2 feet from the bottom of the mattress. Seriously, someone must have been not paying attention to achieve that! The pool and sauna are very nice, but some spare towels rather than bringing one from my room would have been better than a wet towel for my shower in the morning.
