While the price is no doubt that of a 4 stars, the quality of services fail to match this level of excellency, by far !! While all the members of staff met were genuinely friendly, they were also rather incompetent: Reception: • Simpleton clerk giving wrong information regarding surrounding areas: no knowledge of shops, supermarkets, bank locations… • Staff appearing surprised when asked for a service: I informed him that the shoe polish machine was out of polish, after looking at me as if I had asked him for the moon, he said that he would inform the engineer and that it should be fixed the next day… After 3 days, nothing had been done and the shoe polish machine was still standing in the lobby, useless. • Another employee later informed me that they would not be re-filling it, as it was only intended to remove the snow from boots… Dinner at the restaurant: • We ordered from the children’s menu what was called “Assiette de pates”, assuming that the waiter knew his menu and would bring what was in the description: carbonara pasta with cream, lardons, cheese, we asked for “Assiette de pates”: he brought us a plate of plain pasta (no butter, lardons, cheese, or sauce), and this amazing piece of gastronomy for 16 EUR (not very 4 stars like !!!) Breakfast at the restaurant: • Overall an enjoyable experience apart from staff taking away your plate when you are not yet finished (on several occasions), and Nespresso machines not switched ON, the customer having to wait 3 minutes like an idiot in front of the machine for it to warm up!! In the room: • The white roughcast walls in the toilets are more a reminder of social housing than luxury hotels !! • So are the tiles coming off those same walls!!! • Painting which remained askew on the wall for the entire week, even though the cleaning lady came every day !!! She did not seemed bothered. • Bread crumbs left on the table even after the alleged cleaning. • Soap and handkerchief box restocked whenever she remembers it and not when it runs out!! • Complimentary tea and coffee loosely thrown on the table rather than properly tidied. • No mugs, but cups made of cardboard: reminder of lowcost airlines or takeaways… Not very luxurious or indeed hommy!! Overall experience not worth the 4 stars !!!
Very nice view - good restaurant (we have been for dinner in the evening). Breakfast was fantastic, nice swimming pool. The view from the room and terrace was fantastic. The room size is OK, the children have slept in the anteroom which was small but OK (children free). In general it is very calm in summer in "The Arcs", since these are villages constructed for ski.
