ibis Beijing Dacheng Rd: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Mixed feelings."

29th August 2012, havana6511, Auckland Region, New Zealand

I think its fair to say they do not have a booking system in place at Ibis Dacheng as we had two separate bookings within a two-week period and were twice told upon arrival that we did not have any rooms reserved - the first time we were told to go elsewhere and the second time they left my family standing in the lobby while they all went into the back room to discuss what to do. Much better if you have as little contact with the front office staff as possible to avoid disappointment or the common blank stare. Cant comment on the Family Rooms that we were supposed to have but the Business rooms were fine, kept to a tidy standard and the cleaning staff were very friendly. Beds were comfortable for us as we like hard beds - they're basically just a mattress popped on top of a low table. Wifi worked in our rooms, however on the 7th floor the reception is poor. Location was perfect for us as we did not want to stay in the city centre. Side street around the corner had little food stalls around 5pm, Cui Wei Mall about 10 minute walk to the left and Gold Long Mall 10 minutes to the right.
