Mercure Capricorn Resort Yeppoon: 4.0 out of 5 stars "refurbishment"

18th May 2012, LLOYD010569, Rockhampton, Australia

Had a lovely stay at the resort but having been a regular for many years it is evident that the rooms are in urgent need of a makeover.

Mercure Capricorn Resort Yeppoon: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Rooms"

2nd May 2012, Sandra988, Emerald

Location is fantastic, quiet, warm stay & one of the BEST SPA'S i have ever had. Facials, Massage, Meni & Pedi i can't explain how much it is worth every PENNY. Cleaning wise, not soo much, we had to switch rooms 2 times. It was to wet, the aircon was dripping from the walls & the room was flooded a bit, it had an awful smell.

Mercure Capricorn Resort Yeppoon: 4.0 out of 5 stars "our stay"

29th April 2012, Dingo13Wanaka, wanaka

It was a shame that the wedding party we were with was in a different building. As this took away from our family experience. The staff were very good and the free activitys good and easy to access. The room was very tidy, but dated as were the buildings. But the staff do a good job presenting them in an excellent condition. One night our sleep was disrupted by intoxicated young males who trashed our floor, a shame really but at least you caught them.

Mercure Capricorn Resort Yeppoon: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Short Stay"

26th April 2012, djj36, Rockhampton, Australia

We had a great time at the resort for our short stay. Room was good, nice and clean. i did leave something behind and the staff were most helpful in locating the item. The bar area around the pool could stay open a little longer. Food at the reception we attended was lovely.

Mercure Capricorn Resort Yeppoon: 3.0 out of 5 stars "what do i believe"

23rd April 2012, bewildered817, brisbane, Australia

Great place to stay with kids, plenty of activities to do. Information within the hotel was very misleading, the inhouse adds on the television told us to get a drink by the pool, open every day. This opened once on easter saturday when the price of everything available nearly doubled. Go to scoops for a snack (situated beside the pool) open everyday. This hasn't been open for quite some time. I would go there again although a part of me would say why.

Mercure Capricorn Resort Yeppoon: 2.0 out of 5 stars "tired"

22nd April 2012, Raewyn2711, Brisbane, Australia

hotel and rooms tired and badly in need of some renovations. Crickets throughout the room. air conditioning unable to be adjusted so very cold and no blanket in room.

Mercure Capricorn Resort Yeppoon: 1.0 out of 5 stars "Disgusting-rip off"

19th April 2012, Maree-disgusted, Toowoomba, Australia

One word disgusting. The whole resort was dirty needs a good scrub. service was terrible, really what service. We we charged another $160.00 dollars for a 2 bedroom apartment so total cost of a 2 night stay was $655.00 in a dirty room. We had a family wedding and everyone was complaning about dirty, no service and cost. Will never stay ever again and have been telling everyone who ask how disgusting the whole place was.

Mercure Capricorn Resort Yeppoon: 2.0 out of 5 stars "Long weekend in yeppoon."

18th April 2012, wratt67, Rockhampton, Australia

With the Accor plus card we received mixed information. From Accor we where told that we would get the discount on all food at the resort but the resort informed us that there was no discount on breakfast or the Japanese restaurant. As for the golf the accor staff said that there would be a discount on golf but as before when i went to play golf i was informed by the staff that there is no discount on the golf.We arrived at the resort at approximately 1.55pm and went to reception to book in when the receptionist informed us that the room was not ready and said that she wood call us on the mobile when it was ready.(We were not called) We waited by the pool for app an hour and a half when i said to my wife that we should go and see if the room was ready, when my wife returned she had the room key but there was no apology or anything offered for the inconvenience. The Surf and Turf Market Buffet in the Billabong restaurant was poor and the service was ordinary. (When i order a bottle of wine in a restaurant and pay top dollar i expect that the wine will be served to me and my glass topped up not that the waiter will poor the first glass and then i poor my own wine.)I could go on but i think this says enough.

Mercure Capricorn Resort Yeppoon: 2.0 out of 5 stars "Our stay"

17th April 2012, d_k_osborne, Brisbane, Australia

I was a little dissappointed with the resort rooms. The rooms are very tired and are in need of repair. The fridge leaked, mossies splatted on the wall above the TV, the enamel was even coming off the bath. I have stayed at this resort before and the rooms were much more appealing. The pool facilities for the kids are still good. The meals are very expensive for what they are. I ordered takeaway fish and chips asked for no salt as I cannot have added salt. I had to take the order back as it had salt on it. I then waited another 15 mins for my meal only for it to have salt on the crumb again. Then I realised this must be precrumbed fish for the $20 that I paid for it I was dissappointed that this was not freshly crumbed fish. The phone in the room also did not work as it was not charged. The menus in the rooms were not up to date as some things were removed and what was on the menu was more expensive.

Mercure Capricorn Resort Yeppoon: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Average Resort"

16th April 2012, QueenslandTraveller6, Queensland

This motel is very old in decor and the rooms are okay however the carpets are stained in places and a few water marks. If sleeping in the back room that backs onto the external hall you do get a lot of outside noise and is not good if you are a light sleeper. The resort itself is kept in a fairly good condition for its age however some things like the very plain mini golf and the tennis courts could do with a bit more of a revamp. The activites at the resort and meals are very costly. We drove into yeppoon each day for our meals as few and the food inyeppoon stil worked out cheaper than eatting at the resort. One other major downfall was that our room was not ready upon arrival and were sent away to come back when our room was ready, this was annoying after standing in line for 35 minutes to be told this.

Mercure Capricorn Resort Yeppoon: 1.0 out of 5 stars "Great facilities, awful room."

16th April 2012, JohnandJo299, Toowoomba, Australia

The resort facilities were fantastic- more than happy with that. Now...we had read reviews and were concerned the room could be a bit ordinary so rung the resort and were upgraded to a soft refurbished room. We entered the room... it stank of a musty dirty stale smell, the carpet was badly stained and everything just looked so dirty including black hairs in the shower. It really was awful. If they only just refurbished their rooms the place would be fantastic. We had booked and paid for 3 nights and left after the first night even though no refund was available.

Mercure Capricorn Resort Yeppoon: 3.0 out of 5 stars "horrible refrigerator"

15th April 2012, cloncurry_family, Cloncurry, Australia

Arrived in yeppoon for the easter holidays. The hotel location is really good, and has a really good pool. Lots of activities for the kids. But, the room service is poor. Never vaccumed the floor carpet by the room service staff during the 3 days we stayed there. THe refrigerator was horrible, it is good to use as a heater during the winter.Complained about it, but the hotel staff did nothing to bring it back to working condition. Really frustrating about the poor service provided to our family.

Mercure Capricorn Resort Yeppoon: 5.0 out of 5 stars "we will be back"

14th April 2012, mozzakel, Tannum Sands, Australia

we will return again. kids had a great time. the room was nice would of been nice looking over the pool area. we never had towels the service with the pool towels was really bad never had any ready

Mercure Capricorn Resort Yeppoon: 4.0 out of 5 stars "more dining options required"

14th April 2012, joybell965, Emerald, Australia

Need more range of dining at night, having a expensive buffet at one restaurant and the only other Japanese restaurant booked out we had no option but to drive into Yeppoon for meals and this was a great inconvenience

Mercure Capricorn Resort Yeppoon: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Easter Getaway"

13th April 2012, Mouse80, Rockhampton, Australia

We tried to do a lot of things over the weekend but nothing was available. This was probably due to the weekend we chose to visit but it was still disappointing. For the amount of money we paid to stay I found it really expensive for food and activities. Also for the amount of money we paid to stay I found a swing needed replacing and the paint in the lobby and rooms needed repainting. As far as the service it was excellent.

Mercure Capricorn Resort Yeppoon: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Easter 2012"

12th April 2012, Townsville, Australia

We spent 3 nights at this resort over Easter. Overall we had a fabulous time, it was a lovely place for children and ours had a great time. The room was a bit old, but still comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly. The best thing for us was the pool, although the kids would have liked the slide to be open all day. The worst thing for us was the lack of a good range of vegetarian food available which meant we had to leave the resort for meals, which was disappointing.

Mercure Capricorn Resort Yeppoon: 2.0 out of 5 stars "Not happy"

11th April 2012, Blackwater, Australia

Our door was very hard to open. The room was full of crickets upon check-in... We had trouble sleeping because there were loud noises coming from behind our wall... We had water systems in room behind us... The brekky has got quite boring. They've cut a fair bit out... was really dissapointed in our stay over all... Would not pay that kind of money to stay 2 nights ever again.

Mercure Capricorn Resort Yeppoon: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Relaxing times."

11th April 2012, Rockhampton, Australia

Thought being school hoidays the pool side bar and slide would've been open more. Our room wasn't as clean as I would have preferred. Still food crumbs left on cupboard and bed cover had a stain on it, floor bit dirty for our first entrance. other than that we had a very relaxing time and the kids loved it very much. Staff very friendly.

Mercure Capricorn Resort Yeppoon: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Capricorn Resort Yeppoon"

11th April 2012, Brisbane, Australia

Sorry to say but this property requires SO much work done to it,,,where do you start? The lobby even Smelt old! Not enough staff for good service, esp Japanese rest for lunch. Waited ages to even get menu and drinks. Looks like they are winding down the old capricorn resort which is a shame. In its hayday it was a great place but there has been no money spent on it for years and it is just declining into a sad old place.:(

Mercure Capricorn Resort Yeppoon: 3.0 out of 5 stars "High expectation ,disappoint start"

11th April 2012, Airlie Beach, Australia

The apartment appeared to be dated ,in need of renovation the pool appearance was good, but service and drink selection poor.Dinner menu poor

Mercure Capricorn Resort Yeppoon: 4.0 out of 5 stars "weekend trip"

10th April 2012, Blackwater, Australia

very nice hotel with lots of things to do - waterball, volleyball, mini golf, spa, gym etc + close to the beach. only negative point: cockroaches in the room.

Mercure Capricorn Resort Yeppoon: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Outside Attractions Great for Kids"

10th April 2012, Theodore

The rooms at Capricorn Resort have not changed in the many years we have been going however new/er beds were very welcome and comfortable. The rooms are spacious and clean and the food at the restaurants is always lovely. The drawcard of the Resort is the leisure facilities particularly for us with young children, the pools and slides which are well maintained and wonderful for kids and parents to relax around. The nearby beach is not patrolled but the main drawback is the vehicle access which means you need to keep your kids at your side to ensure they are not in the way of the cars and 4WDs careering up the beach. The only downside to this stay was the increased price of breakfast for kids - most other Accor resorts have kids eat free when parents pay. Half price for younger kids (over 3) who would only eat a bowl of cereal is a little expensive. Overall, very happy with our stay and we will be back!

Mercure Capricorn Resort Yeppoon: 4.0 out of 5 stars "More disability services needed"

10th April 2012, Allenstown, Queensland

Its alot better than some places but it is not really to the international standard I thought it would be, the decore in the rooms is very old and mismatched, and they need repainting. The staff as the best quality of this hotel, super friendly and eager to lend a hand or offer a smile. The options of things to do here is almost endless, I gave my teenagers a challenge to do as much as they could in our 3 days (they didnt get them all done =)) Was bit disappointed that the pools were not disability-friendly and even the shallow 'family' pool has a sand graded access which would only allow for entry of a disabled person who could be carried =( or who had a few sure-footed helpers to assist.Overall it is a lovely location, the food on offer was top notch but the decore and access let me down.

Mercure Capricorn Resort Yeppoon: 5.0 out of 5 stars "A relaxing week and fun for the family"
