Reception staff is very rude and unfriendly

TripAdvisor rating 1.0/5

Gina G TripAdvisor review

The reception staff is very rude and unfriendly, so unprofessional! I booked the hotel for a member of staff through Corporate Travel agency and the traveler was asked to pay for his stay when he checked in, as soon as he arrived at the hotel. The reservation was Billback to the company card and our travel agent checked that the hotel received the virtual card details. The staff was not happy to refund the travelled and charge the company. They told the traveler to expense his receipt with the company. So unprofessional! Please train your staff accordingly if they don't know how to check for a confirmed virtual card when a booking is BILLBACK - it's 2024.

Very good budget hotel, clean and friendly.

I think some of the reviews I have seen on here are way too harsh. This hotel is a budget hotel in a popular part of Paris, if you want 5 star luxury in Paris you will have to pay a lot more than the fee to stay here. The staff are relaxed and quite friendly when you get to know them, I find them to be very nice and helpful, normal people doing there job, they didn't jump through hoops just did was is required, in a pleasant enough fashion, that works for me. The rooms are small, but in Paris I have stayed in smaller. For two people the rooms are just about big enough, they are clean, which is important, the beds are comfortable. The bathrooms are dated but clean and everything worked so that's fine, happy enough with that. The breakfast included was actually pretty good, was expecting gourmet all inclusive but there's enough to give you a start in the morning with a decent enough coffee. Overall for the amount of money you pay, this is about as good as your going to get in that part of Paris, which is very popular for tourists, would I recommend it, yes, would I stay there again, yes, definitely, and I probably will as I enjoy Paris and that hotel catered for us perfectly. Really appreciate all the staff who work there, apologies I didn't catch your names, but you do a good job and I appreciate it.

Fairly good location in an acceptable room

The stay went without any issues and the location was good. The room was too small but the bad was still comfortable.

The location is close to nightlife and metro, and probably thats the best thing I can say about this property. They allocated an attic room on the top floor for our family of 4, which is without a doubt the smallest hotel "room" I've ever stepped in. Although there were some exceptions, but largely the staff was not up to the mark, never in uniform, and some were frankly rude! They had an issue with me using the common toilet downstairs when there is a toilet in my room. In all the years of staying at hotels worldwide, this was brand-new and not expected at all! They expected the lobby area to be vacated at 9pm (or was it 10pm?). The lobby was again the smallest lobby ive ever seen, which also doubled up as the breakfast buffet area. The breakfast staff wasn't too great either. What made it worse was that our next hotel was an Ibis Budget property at Luzern Switzerland, which was head and shoulders above this one, although Ibis Styles is supposed to be two notches above Ibis Budget. Regarding the neighborhood, it was OK during the day and evening, but early morning there were strange characters roaming around and wouldnt let me stand outside the hotel and smoke in peace and tried to harass one way or another. It didnt help matters that a shady bar across the street remained open till amost 7am with characters hanging right outside, drinks in hand. I am not sure if this would be true of all of Paris, but definitely here there was a weird vibe. Having paid more than 300 EUR a night for the room, I expected better, and needless to mention, I shall not like to stay here again.

Too small and not well cared

The rooms are soo small, they need a refreshment on the furniture and devices and on the room itself. I saw hotels from Ibis simple, that looked a lot better than this Ibis Styles. The zone is ok as a point of start. if the room is on the front of the building, you may be disturbed by the night life there.
