A short stumbling distance from the railway and bus station takes you to the hotel. The staff were pleasant and friendly and the hotel reflected its Highland location. From the dining room and bar you have good views of the river Ness. I had opted for a compact double which was well equipped and included good wifi. The bed was comfy, the mood lighting worked well and the towels were of a generous size. The bathroom was spotless but a little dated in feel. The shower pressure could of been better. I enjoyed the hearty breakfast buffet. It makes a good base for exploring the surrounding areas.

Car park and the reception area are very good. Buffet breakfast was quite nice with a good choice. The corridors and rooms upstairs while fine do need a little bit of attention and modernisation, but all in a nice pleasant stay

Booked privileged room was rather disappointed by the size of the room in comparison to the ones which you have pictured on your website and advertising boards around the hotel we tried to move the net curtains to have a look at the view from our window the net rail fell down on mine and my partners head reported this to the reception manager took a loom at it while we were out for our evening meal on return to the hotel we spoke to reception staff and manager came and spoke to us said he could not fix the problem never offered us another room until we mentioned that the pictures on the walls and on the website are misleading to the room sizes eventually put us into another room which may I add was still not as large as the ones that you use for advertisement the room was cold and did not have the views which were deceived on your website view of the roof not the river or the old town! Pretty disappointing to be honest when we could have stayed somewhere cheaper and had a better room!

The Mercure in Inverness was great. The room was huge, clean, comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was perfect--within walking distance of many places to eat. Plenty of parking behind the hotel.
