"comfy hotel"

Made very welcome on arrival room clean good size. Very handy to get to York on Park and Ride.Breakfast was good aoart from the sausages which were a bit short on pork and heavy on filler. Dinning room staff very good and service was great.will return good valueJonathan

"Great service, great value for money"

This hotel was perfectly placed to see a bit of York while visiting relative in North Yorkshire. We had a spacious well equipped and quiet room (303), enjoyed excellent, good value, room service and a comfortable bed.Minor quibbles: tea and coffeee making facilities in the room were very welcome but please provide enough tea for two ; we only worked out how to regulate the heating towards the end of our second day. Please make clearer instructions more obviously available.

We had a lovely stay at the Mercure: the room was spacious and well appointed; the food was first class (we had dinner one night and breakfast both mornngs). It was excellent value for money.All the staff were helpful and friendly.

"Great location - Mecure York Fairfield Manor"

This is a great place for shopping trips to the centre of York. There is a Park and Ride within half a mile away which gets you into York for £2.50 return. There is a designer outlet a few miles away which is worth a visit. The hotel has a modern feel to the reception area without compromising the traditional feel of the rest of the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay here.

good location only a five minute drive from the tourist attraction, nice clean hotel, big rooms, walls are a bit thin as we could here the activities happening next door - need I say no more on that matter! No wifi in the rooms and a bit week in the lobby where you have to go for wifi access.

"Great stay"

The hotel was first class and we will definately be staying again. The staff were polite and efficient and made our stay an enjoyable one. Breakfast was very good, well cooked with plenty of choice. There is a pub 5 mins walk from the hotel which serves food. York is a 15 minute drive away.Use the park and ride which is a mile or so from the hotel, on the way to York, cost £5 per couple for a return ticket, with free parking!!! untill 8.30pm, (6.30pm Sunday).

Excellent Hotel. Rooms are more than just standard hotel sleeping boxes. Our family room had enough comfortable seating so we didn't have to sit on the beds as in many places.Staff were professional, helpful and friendly. Breakfast was really excellent.Pity the Accor Online Booking Website doesn't work to the same high standards as this hotel. Will definitely visit again but next time we will book direct.

"Excellent, good value hotel"

Easy and free parking at the hotel make this a good option for visitors to York as it is close to the park and ride for York city centre with its anti-car attitude. It is close to the out-of-town shopping outlets of Monk's Cross and Clifton Moor (which has a Cineworld multiplex and several restaurants) and gives easy access to the ring road for trips around Yorkshire. The staff were friendly and welcoming; all areas clean; very comfortable bedroom; flat screen TV; easy-to-use free wifi in lounge; excellent buffet and to order breakfast. I would like to say that it was quiet - but I had a man mowing the lawn right outside my ground floor window at 8 am, but I'm sure that doesn't happen every day and it was otherwise quiet.

"Lovely hotel handy for visiting York"

A good experience overall. Very convenient for the Park and Ride for visiting York. Slightly marred by our room facing the A19 which could be noisy during the day time. Not too bad at night, but the trucks start around 7am. Would not put us off going back, though, but would probably request a room on the other side, facing the grounds.

An intersting mix of an old building with a new extension. The original rooms of the old building are worth having a look at - som beautiful old panelling. Bedroom was comfortable, well appointed and very clean as was the bathroom.Optedfor dinner in the hotel - food was good and staff were delightful. Breakfast - good value for money - and good selection available from the buffet. Excellent value for the money we paid.

"Great Hotel"

This is a lovely hotel and very reasonable. It is just outside of York (only a few minutes drive in really) but because of that you have free parking which is very helpful. The rooms were big and clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We were staying in York for a funeral and the staff ensured that we could have a extra hour in our rooms after normal check out for us to get ourselves ready. We also met people in the hotel bar and had no problems with noise etc. Breakfast was very nice as well and you could help yourself to as much as you wanted.Overall I would definately recommend this hotel.

Clean hotel and good room. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good although dinner was not particularly good perhaps my choice was a bad one. Service was friendly and prompt in the dining room and bar.

The rooms are a good size and great value for money and quiet. The breakfast is worth the money. But the real selling point is the staff. From reception, to bar and restaurant staff, they were without exception, courteous, friendly and helpful. Recommended.
