On booking I requested a room with castle stay however I did not receive this. However the room I received was refurbished and it did have the necessary facilities.Which although cramped suited my teenage Granddaughter and I. There was a problem with the safe so I alerted Reception and very promptly a most helpful and efficient young member of staff dealt with the problem. In addition abath and hand towel were missing so he also obtained these. He gave us an excellent!! excellent service.

Convenient location, lovely staff and views from the restaurant very good. Breakfast also very good. However paid the same for a twin room that was located at the back of the hotel as others that had a double at the front of the hotel. Room had noise of air conditioning unit and view of a dead pigeon. Refurbished room but felt just a bit better than a travelodge. Bathroom had no extractor and some fixtures hanging off the wall. Noise of refurbishment and workmen around during the day. At £250+ a night felt very overpriced.

Really close to Waverley station which is why we chose it and glad we did. The hotel is opposite the Scott Monument and the gardens with views of the castle. The hotel was clean comfortable with friendly staff. We had a lovely meal in Scotts. Would recommend a stay here

We couldn’t have asked for more from a hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, our room was freshly decorated with a contemporary Scottish feel, and the breakfast was fresh with plenty of options. But the thing that makes this hotel extra special is the location! The beautiful bar / restaurant area offers a view of Edinburgh Castle and Princes Street which is just amazing. I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough and will definitely stay here again!
