The bed keeps moving, the room looks a bit tired ! First floor rooms are better than second floor. Not all the staff recognise the platinum card and it feels embarrassing having to ask about the welcome drink card and upgrade ! The manager is great though, he will always welcome you and acknowledge your patronage!
So as a hotel goes it was 'OK' - friendly staff - good evening meal although the wine is a little on the expensive side. You can use the gym/pool which although not used i believe is of a high standard The key issue that we were woken up at approx 06:00 hrs by noise which was caused by a contractor moving equipment in preparation for a party. It wasn't a small amount of niose and not over quickly - and to top it the reception team had no idea that anybody was onsite. There was no apology and I have recieved an email from Mercure asking me to provide feedback on this site. I have emailed the the GM to check if they seriously wish me to put feedback on a open forum. Not had a reply nor an acknowledgement. Next time if staying in Hull will check out the Mercure in the City Centre or an alternative hotel group.
Nothing was too much trouble. Even when there was a fire drill the staff were excellent.Efficient and friendly staff. Gym and swimming facilities were excellent. If I ever venture to Hull again I would not think twice about booking here again.
The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The restaurant offers choice and nicely cooked food at reasonable cost. For a hotel with pool and leisure facilities the rates are extremely reasonable. The room was in need of a little refreshing, paint and tiles a bit jaded, however the bed was very comfortable and they offered decaf financed teas and coffees as part of the complimentary room facilities. Overall good value.
the hotel is very good and friendly with the staff and the rooms are kelped clean if there one thing i would say could be better and that is a fridge in the rooms as i do like to have a cold drink during the night
Dear 146honda, Thank you for comments following your stay at the Mercure Hull Grange Park, it sounds like you had a good stay. For future reference we do have limited amount of fridges behind Reception for this very purpose. Many Thanks Jeff
The Hotel was very busy on the night of our stay so we couldn't get in the restaurant. We ate in the bar which was OK if a bit drafty. The room (standard double) was fine, the bed was great, but the pillows were a bit hard but slept well enough. The bathroom probably needs to be updated in the next year or so. The view from our room was of the garden. Breakfast was a standard buffet, there wasn't much room (too many tables), and some of the food was not as warm as it should have been but by and large the breakfast was OK. Overall if you are visiting the area the hotel offers value for money.
Dear 781jim, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us, we greatly appreciate it. Some of our bedrooms do need a refresh and we are working with our owners towards this. Hopefully, this will be all finished within the next few months. We hope you will come back later in the year and see the progress yourselves. Kind Regards Jeff
