"Good location; good service"

We stayed at this hotel after visiting Stonehenge and Avebury. It is in a very quiet spot just off the A4. The service was excellent. Not many guests (being a country hotel in mid January), so the staff recommended we ate in the bar, not in the restaurant which was not so cozy.

"FABULOUS LOCATION"

Our stay here was really enjoyable so much so that we're returning again next month. The room standard was excellent & the staff very friendly & helpful. The food was of a very high standard indeed & service excellent. There are lovely views across from the restaurant & the hotel was in a fabulous setting & location for exploring the local area. The leisure facilities ok but pool quite small & not suitable for those who like a full swim especially if there are families splashing around as in our case.Our only fault was that our room was close to the function room & the disco very loud. However the music stopped promptly @ midnight so wasn't too much of a problem for us but for a family with young children this might be so.

"Will not stay again"

Nice country location. But we had to carry out suitcases up a spiral stair case, not lift! Although our room was in the new part, the toilet seat was yellow! The restaurant was in the little function room due to a wedding in the restaurant. The waiter was rude! The breakfast staff the next morning at first decided to stand around and do nothing or take a seat! Tea was cold and I had to go over to them to ask for a new pot. The Reception staff member when I checked out decided to tell me you get what you pay for. So basically, too bad. Well why ask me if you have a come back about your hotel. Will not stay here again.

"pleasant but nothing exceptional"

A pleasant quiet place to stay for a night if you happen to be in the area (and have your own means of transport). Nothing exceptional though, would not go out of the way just to spend some time here.

"Disappointing"

We arrived at 2130. The hotel was hosting a wedding and had made no provision to provide bar and resturant facilities for other guests, so we were confined to our room.I don't think I'd stay there again, unless I was desperatre.

Although the restaurant had finished for the night you should have been offered the option of room service and I apologise that this did not happen. "Fantastic Value, Friendly Staff and Great Location"

We stayed in one of the balcony rooms 55/56 in the new section; also I would recommend room 25 in the old section and rooms 3 and 20 in the Mews, all adding different features and benefits to suit most tastes. The reception/Gym/bar/dining room and Chamber maid staff was all friendly and polite, the only disappointment apart from the great British weather, was the very poor meal we had on the Sunday evening at the Hotel. I did leave a letter for the hotel manager praising the staff and the hotel, but stating my surprise and great dissatisfaction with the lack of quality and long delay with our dinner. I am still awaiting a reply, but this one bad experience could not distract from an otherwise lovely, charming and refreshing break at a hotel we would strongly recommend and return to.Good luck and Enjoy your stay Marc and Beata.
