"Great value peaceful hotel"
6th March 2013, 356Janie, Staines, United Kingdom
The hotel is on the very edge of Wetherby within a few minutes walk of restaurants and shops, and 20 min drive of York. The room was clean but initially smelt strongly of smoke, presumably from a previous occupier. We reported this to the front desk who then arranged for housekeeping to change the pillows and towels which dealt with the problem. Very happy with the service level, and value for money.View management response »

"Pleasant hotel in convenient location"
23rd February 2013, wilkie28, Exeter, United Kingdom
We were visiting Harrogate where the hotels are quite expensive ,so decided to stay in Wetherby ,a short drive away. The hotel offered very good value for money, was easy to find ,the reception staff extremely helpful and professional. It is a short walk, crossing the River Wharfe, to the very pleasant town with traditional pubs and a good selection of shops. We had breakfast which had a the usual buffet plus a good selection of cooked items . We were most happy with our stay and would recommend it as an alternative to pricey Harrogate.View management response »

"Good potential but tired"
18th February 2013, GME312, Coventry, United Kingdom
This hotel is well situated right on the edge of town. The rooms are clean but tired as is most of the public rooms. It is however good value for money and the staff we're friendly and helpful. It would benefit from offering some sort of fitness facility.View management response »

"Simple motel accommodation"
4th January 2013, SFC-PVR, London
Room key card system was very troublesome; could not access the room and each time had to go back to reception for help.Room was clean but with marks on the walls. Bathroom was clean but the grouting/mastic was in a poor state of repair. Shower control was not fixed on and came off when the shower was switched on/off.Breakfast served from 07:00-09:30hrs, but when we arived at 07:30hrs we were told there was was no hot food until 08:00hrs. No details of this advertised and no explanation given.View management response »

The hotel staff are friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The lounge area is comfortable and spacious. Rooms are great value for money and i would return if i needed a base in this area again. Wetherby is in walking distance and are not far away from country pubs and Harewood.View management response »

"A bit disappointed"
26th July 2012, tr_mcculloch, Maidenhead, United Kingdom
There are a few issues with the room: Firstly, how come the room smelled of smoke as clearly there is a sign on the door as non-smoking! Secondly, showerhead was an incorrect fitting. This made the bathroom flooding. Finally, dirty underwear left behind of bathroom door.View management response »

"Customer services un help ful"
13th July 2012, Huddersfield, United Kingdom
We booked a hotel on a pay up front basis through the accor site.We planned to stay at this hotel due to attending the Mfest concert At harewood houseThe event was cancelled due to inclement weather.we notified the the hotel of this with a notice period of over 48 hrsThey not only would not cancel the hotel and so have the ability to resell they offered no gesture of goodwill and were quite happy to take our money with out offering any service with a read the small print attitudeA learning experience at my end but one which means I will not be booking with them again.Hopefully something they may learn from before they treat another customer in this mannerView management response »
Management responseDear Jonathan325Thank you for your email, and I am sorry that you were not able to stay with us.The rate you purchased was an advance saver rate which allows you to book our rooms at a cheaper rate, the terms & conditions for the savings you make are that they are non refundable, for a more flexible rate you could have chosen one of the other offers that could have been changed. As you can imagine we do get a lot of requests for refunds, various reasons are given for these requests, for us to decide which is a more demanding reason than the next person is not fair so we have to adhere to our terms & conditions. If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact me or in my absence Dominic Biggin my Operations Manager.Kind RegardsMark HoylandGeneral Manager

Many things in favour, but central heating pump needs fixing - very noisy and on all night even though radiators switched off. As soon as went off in the morning, grass was being cut outside room !!! Many quieter nights spent in the centre of London!!View management response »

"Two Nights at Wetherby Mecure"
8th June 2012, Wilby0, Orange, Australia
Wetherby is a convenient location with easy access to York and Leeds. The Hotel is easy to find being next to a round about off the A168. It was quite with no noticable trafic sound. Being a holiday weekend the roads were busy. The hotel is built on various levels with no lift and only one ramp, which makes carrying luggage around a bit of a chore. If I stay again I'll ask for a room closer to the enrty. We only dined-in for breakfast which we found a pleasant experience with the usual Mecure menu.View management response »

The plumbing at this hotel needs serious attention. Poor toilet flushing, trickling taps, poor mixing showers and a very noisy heating system, made our stay very uncomfortable. We wont go back!View management response »
