"Just the best!"
21st May 2012, backspaced, Sydney, Australia
The Fairmont Leura resort is just a beautiful winter getaway. The check in was easy and quick and efficient. Room ready and clean and valley view request was honoured with breathtaking results. The grounds are extensive and well maintained. There is an outdoor pool and hot spa but more importantly for winter there is an indoor heated pool and hot spa!A mention must be made of the fine dining restaurant Eucalypt. This is a sublime experience - every dish better than the one before it - culminating in a wonderful taste sensation with the desert platter which contains the entire desert menu.Even better with the Accor Advantage Plus card!Could not speak more highly of this hotel and all staff we came into contact with during our stay.Hope to be going to Christmas in July.
"1st Class Service"

My husband and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary at this beautiful hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and if visiting the blue mountains again would stay at this hotel. The staff at the hotel couldn't have been more helpful and friendly, a special thank you to Caroline who went above and beyond her job during our stay, giving us a courtesy call and welcoming us in person and with beautiful chocolates, champagne and a nice card wishing us a happy anniversary. Once again thank you to the Fairmont Resort for making our wedding anniversary that extra special.
"Brilliant weekend"

Wow what a fantastic resort. There was nothing that we could fault. The staff were so friendly and the resort facilities were amazing. On arrival we were upgraded to a better room and had champagne and chocolates on arrival and they had even made up our daughters port a cot. The food was great. I highly recommend having breakfast at the resort each morning, best breakfast ever!! the only negative was that the food was so good and so many choices that i would walk out feeling far too full, but very satisfied. Have already recommended this resort to my friends and is a fantastic kid/baby friendly resort.

"One night is not enough"
11th May 2012, HumBoltSydney, Sydney, Australia
We had a weekend get-away of golf, tennis and walks on the escarpment, escaping from Sydney. Two days/one night is not enough to take advantage of all that is offered at the Fairmont.Despite the large number of guests that weekend, we never had to wait for anything, and the staff made us feel very special.
"A work in progress"
7th May 2012, wareemba, australia
Mucked up booking. They upgraded us to a room with a shower as we had requestedIt needs a lot of upgrading.Food is expensive. The service was very slow with food. The staff on the front desk were very helpful You have to pay for the InternetParking is bad during the day as the people park from the golf course

Management responseDear Reviewer, your feedback is appreciated and has been shared with our team. As you observed whilst much refurbishment has already been undertaken over the past year there are some works in progress. Our carpark and specifically one level, is partly shared with the adjacent golf course but there are approx 350 car park spots overal ensuring there is always sufficient for resort guests. We look forward to welcoming you back to The Fairmont by Mgallery.Regards,Geoffrey YorkGeneral Manager

"enjoyable mid week break"
6th May 2012, sue2012165, Orange, Australia
We really enjoyed our stay, the staff were very friendly and the room we stayed in had recently been refitted, very modern, and contemporary in style. Although not promoted there is easy access to amazing bushwalking from the golf course (behind the 14th tee) . We walked to Wentworth falls via Valley of the Waters and The National Pass, lunch at The Conservation Hut ( 5 hrs return) Enjoyed the pool & spa facilites will be even better when all the renovations to the lesiure facility are completed.
"Weekend in the mountains"

Love the hotel and location but unfortunately the food department was not at the same standard. Seafood buffet unfortunately included soggy prawns - however when we mentioned this to the chef we were served with some lovely fresh prawns. Breakfast was very busy and chaotic with not enough staff to handle the obvious large conference crowd. 2nd morning breakfast was a bit better with an additional area opened up for a reasonably quiet breakfast. Overall a great place, food needs some improvement and somehow large conference crowds can spoil the day.
"well worth a visit"

Beautiful location. Los to do and see within hotel grounds and in neighbourhood. All staff are happy, friendly and courteous and make this a very joyful stay for all visitors.Hotel amenities still being completed and we will go back later when finished, so we can enjoyit even more.
"Fairmont"

The hotel while it is undergoing renovations, is beautiful- great position and the Blue Mountains explorer bus stops at the door. The room was a King (upgrade) and was quiet and very comfortable- the bed was a dream! Our only disappointment was that we paid for an upgrade for a view, but the trees have grown and they are all we saw. I like the sun and would stay on the golf course side next time. On checkout, when asked about our stay, I said I was disappointed about this and the Manager immediately offered a refund for the upgrade we had paid for which I thought was very nice but fair. We were at the extreme end of the hotel so it was a fair way to the sporting amenities and pool as the hotel is a large one- depending on your preferences this could be an advantage or not. Both an indoor and outdoor pool, the former far too hot in water temperature for swimming, (34 degrees!) while the outside one too cold at this time of the year (about 17 degrees). The 2 spas are a good alternative. The bar area has a wonderful atmosphere and staff very friendly. I would have liked to eat in the fine dining restaurant, but as I am allergic to seafood I found the menu a little restrictive for my tastes and needs. The coffee shop is lovely and serves High Tea (I found this out too late to enjoy!) Advice- unless you have children, don't go in school holidays if you can avoid it! It was our wedding anniversary and we shared it with a huge number of children in the Buffet. The staff were wonderful but it was hard to keep up with the demand of some very 'hungry' / 'piggy' guests- what is it about buffet meals that everyone eats as if it is their last meal??? (At $65 pp I guess one would want to get their moneys worth, even if the kids ( 2 ) did eat free). While I gave only 4 for service, the staff were friendly and worked hard, but the hotel was full with 2 weddings and a mass of families so they were extremely busy!Lovely Golf course across the road and lovely bush walk and tennis court. the resort is huge and well worth a visit.

"A pleasant stay."

Pros:We were met with very friendly and helpful staff at the reception who went out of thier way to ensure our bookin in was an easy experience. We found our rooms well decorated and very clean. We found the location and outlook lovely. We found our meals tasty albeit expensive (see Cons). We found the facilities of good standard (see Cons).Cons:We found some areas slightly lacking but as renovations were being carried out, this was understandable. We found the meals expensive for the quantity although the buffet breakfast was very good.We found some of the staff other than the staff on the desk appear slightly disinterested in thier guestsWe found the bedding hard as the "King Size" beds were made up of 2 sofas pushed together as well as the pillows were hard, some improvement needed here.
"Good 3 night stay"

Good resort located on the edge of Leura closed to the cliff edges. Spectacular view through the lobby when you walk in. Rooms were good and clean nice break from Sydney and a bargain round of golf can be had at the Golf club next door to the Resort

It is good to see this fabulous hotel coming back to life again. The basic twin queen bed rooms were nice and roomy. The hotel has great facilities, with an indoor heated and an outdoor pool and great views. If you can get in early enough, get a room on the fourth floors on the valley side for spectacular views. Food in the eucalypt restaurant was some of the best we have ever had. Some refurbishment still going on with great conference facilities and obviously some carpet in corridor areas still to be replaced, but overall very good.Lots of great kids activities where on (maybe only school holidays) and the kids enjoyed the cooking lessons (Junior Master Chef type class) with the chef.Location is fantastic with only a 5 min drive to Katoomba and a couple of minutes more to Scenic World (highly recommended for a full day visit with free parking so take the sky rail across to see the three sisters)

the hotel was very busy with alot of families and children at the hotel. There were a lot of activities scheduled for families and children. We were looking for a quiet weekend away so sometimes we heard the children in the hallways - not that this disturbured us. Our room was lovely.

"Lovely getaway"
11th April 2012, Melbourne, Australia
My partner and I stayed for 3 nights and we had a very relaxing stay. The resort is nice and quite and features lots of facilities - well equipped gym, squash courts, tennis courts, table tennis, arcade games, indoor & outdoor pools and spas and great food. Our only trouble was sleeping on a very soft king bed with overstuffed pillows.
"enjoyed our stay"

The hotel was very nice, food was good. Only stayed one night but would have liked to stay longer. The service was very good. Would like to go again in winter.
