"What a Wonderful Place to Stay!"

My partner and I stayed at the Fairmont Resort for two nights and it was amazing! Perfect location and surroundings. Very picturesque. Embers restaurant was amazing, we went there for dinner and for lunch and the food was lovely. Had great service. The rooms themselves are amazing. So clean and comfortable.We loved the indoor pool, very relaxing and perfect temperature. On the way down to the pool area we loved the kids rooms too, such a great idea, very clever.Overall, we both loved the property! Very well looked after and very well presented. All the staff from the front desk to housekeeping were so lovely. We will definitely be back! Thank you for a lovely stay :)View management response »

Excellent facilities, comfortable rooms, first class food, professional, helpful and friendly staff. The location is not in the centre of Leura and is a short drive to the township. Generally, the resort has something to suit everyone with excellent gym, pools and game rooms for the young, and adjacent golf courses. One minor cleaning issue, in otherwise spotless accommodation, would be the removal of dirty hand marks on internal door surfaces, (also not uncommon in many first class establishments).
"Could not have been better"

Perfect is what I would like to say! My husband and I had a mini break to the Blue Mountains. A spur of the moment few days away. We enjoyed the indoor pool, gym and were amazed at the facilities for children. The view, the service, the rooms, the meals were all fantastic and we want to tell everyone what a great place to stay and how beautiful it is at the Blue Mountains. We flew to Sydney, caught the train to Leura, (station before Katoomba), and didn't even need a car as the Trolley Bus picked us up and dropped us off at all the major sightseeing/ tourist spots. Katoomba and Leura gardens are all in flower, the scenery is magnificent and it is a great place for a break.

The hotel is very nice and being up in the Mountain is very pleasent HoweverI'm not normally picky about the hotels I stay in but this was a big let downWe had a double room with 2 queen beds and the room was booked for 3 people ,now that would tell me you would expect 3 towels in the room , unfortunatle there was only 2 so had to phone for another one .The main bathroom light was out so asked that to be fixed , They did come to fix it but the next day at 10.30 when we were getting ready to check out of the room, We had lunch and dinner in the restuarant ( only 1 open ) and the service was poor to the extent I had to actually open my own bottle of wine and pour it , thank god for twist top caps these days. I booked this hotel as I have an accor card and was intending to use it for breaklast lunch and dinner but however they now do not take it for breakfast which I was a bit surprised as it shows it does on the accor web site hotel listing , reception was going to look into it for me and give me a call in the afternoon but I am still waiting for the call, Would I stay there again , Unfortunatly notView management response »

We have been coming to the Fairmont for the last 10 years and we always enjoy out stay. In the last few years we have taken our kids and they love it. They love swimming in the pool, playing at the kids play rooms and exploring the grounds. The staff are always friendly and do their best to ensure we are being looked after. We will continue to go back to the Fairmont.View management response »

Great location and views, with good all round service from staff.Staff at restaurant we had dinner at were a bit busy so didn't get the service we were hoping for there.We stayed in the superior room which was small with the shower in the bath, but did have a large king sized bed.Disappointed that I payed for the late check out and breakfast included option yet the hotel failed to confirm this and follow through so would appreciate a small refund or voucher.Overall, overpriced for what we got.View management response »

Location and facilities were great. Loved the new movie theatre. Rooms have been updated and are very confortable. Resort had everything to keep the kids busy and happy. Staff were excellent and very helpful.View management response »

"Very nice resort"

I booked this using my Accor free night and upgraded to the Deluxe room with breakfast and added an extra night. We arrived by car on the Friday and parking is at a premium here but it was no fuss with the help of the Concierge who got all our gear to our room quickly and efficiently.Checking in was a breeze and we got a very nice balcony room (as I requested) facing north which got the sun most of the day. Very nice, especially in Winter. The room as large and airy, vaulted ceiling, Nespresso machine (which needed repair but was quickly fixed), and generally nice setup. I like the choice of soft and firmer pillows as well. Bed was large and very comfortable. Only issue (very minor) was no garbage bin in the main room. You had to go into the bathroom where there was a small one. Bathroom was very nice as well, nice big towels and toiletries as expected. Not expected was the low grade toilet paper and tissues! I use that sort of stuff to sand my walls not my ...Breakfast was downstairs in a large area and you could spill out onto the terrace or nearby restaurant if you chose. Very nice on a sunny morning. Only issue for me - they didn't accept the Accor card for breakfast!! We ended up paying $20/person which was a little bit of a saving on the usual $29. The hot buffet was very nice with plenty of choices to suit everyone.The resort itself was very well laid out. Access to the central areas was easy and there was plenty of space. There was a nice lounge area with a fireplace where you could read, have coffee etc. If you have kids this is the place for you. There were play grounds, every a running train with smoke under a tent!! They had an indoor heated pool as well as the out door pool and spa. There was a well-equipped gym. They even had a movie theatre playing kids movies.The grounds were beautiful and you could have a very nice picnic there well away from the building just looking at the lovely trees, lakes, etc. They had walking tracks as well.We dined at the Eucalypt restaurant one night using our Accor card and it was fantastic. We enjoyed it more than the highly rated Silks in Leura.I would rate this very highly for families if it falls in your budget. For couples it is also pretty good as you can find private areas away from the kids areas as it is such a big resort.

Stayed in a Deluxe room for one night only. Bed was very comfortable, spa very spacious and the room was very neat, clean and tidy. Went to Leura for Brekky instead of using hotel restaurant though reports of the restaurant from others was good. Room heating worked very well and no noise from neighboring rooms.

I have stayed at the Fairmont Resort many times over the years and was pleased when I heard that Accor was managing it and was looking forward to my stay. Unfortunately the first sad thing was that the numbers on my room were almost non existent. When I tried to call reception to reserve a table for dinner the phone did not work. I had to ring from my mobile phone and reported the phone as broken. When a technician finally arrived to fix the phone he could not, and said that someone would try to fix it the next day. No good to me if I needed it through the night. My elderly friend might have become ill as has happened overseas.The newspaper I ordered did not arrive next morning. The carpets are shabby.We had to ask for an extra soap,only one small cake was supplied.I made a remark about these problems to a member of staff at the bar and was told that someone would speak to me and possibly transfer me to another room with a working telephone. No one ever came to speak to me. We were even expecting toweling robes in case we wanted to go to the hot spa, but none were supplied.The standard of this resort is not what it used to be. The gardens need TLC. I hope that Mr Schwartz can fix these problems with Accor. Cheryl HeffernanView management response »

Hotel is very clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly. Actual location not well signposted from Leura township. Disappointing that they don't accept Accor Advantage Plus card for breakfast. Easy walking distance to Sublime Point. Nice golf course if you're a golfer. Lovely foyer area, gym and pool.

We stayed in a deluxe room on the top floor and it was perfect. Fantastic views of the surrounding valleys and a really comfortable, well appointed room. Dinner in the Eucalypt Restaurant was great, as was the service. We will definitely make this a regular weekend escape in the future.

The Fairmont Resort catered for the whole family...food at the resteraunt divine! The fabulous fire place, rooms comfortable, clean and gorgeous gardens it was just perfect! Then the lookout point 3 min drive away just amazing....We will definitely be going back....so relaxed. Great getaway
