Terri S TripAdvisor review

Positives: - room was huge. - excellent location. - I like that there's an ironing board in the room. - comfy bed. - felt clean. Negatives: -hotel is dated with poorly finished areas. Damp/water damaged walls in my room. For the price I paid, I would expect much nicer surroundings. - scaffolding outside my window on floor 3 felt unsafe. Anyone could climb up it. If I'd have been aware of both these issues, and the renovations, I'd have stayed elsewhere. -lift not working, which is a pain for someone with mobility issues. Was told 3rd floor was the lowest available. - noisy guests - expected noise given the location, but guests using the hotel were very inconsiderate. This was a guest issue rather than hotel issue. Overall, it's not a cheap hotel and I imagine once upon a time deserving of the price tag. But right now, its just not value for money.

Dear Terri, Thank you for your review. May I firstly apologise for any disappointed felt during your experience with us. We are currently in the early stages of a refurbishment, beginning with the façade of the property. We will then later this year be starting on the internal areas. I further apologise for the issue experienced with our lift. Due to guest misuse the lift has experienced a technical fault which was unforseen. We are doing all we can to have this fixed as quickly as possible. I apologise for any inconvenience caused to you and for the inconsideration you mention other guests caused during your stay. I am pleased you were happy with our location and were comfortable during your time with us. It is wonderful to hear your compliments about our housekeeping standards, which I will share with the team. We do appreciate you having chosen to stay with us on this occasion and sincerely hope we can welcome you back in the future. Kindest regards Chris Butler General Manager

Caitlin S TripAdvisor review

I travel to Nottingham for business twice a year and always stay at this hotel. The location is fantastic, right in the middle of the old district with lots of restaurants, shopping, and little music venues. It's right on the tram line (one stop from the train/bus station) making it convenient with a suitcase. The place has charm and the staff has always been courteous and efficient. The only drawback is that the street noise can be a bit loud on the weekends, so if you're a light sleeper pack some earplugs. It's never been enough of an issue to bother me.

Dear Caitlin, Thank you so much for your review. I am so pleased that you had such an enjoyable return visit. It is an absolute pleasure for our team to have been able to welcome you back on this occasion. To hear you kind words about our team is truly encouraging, I very much look forward to sharing this feedback with them all. The team and I appreciate your loyalty, it means a great deal to us. Thank you for returning to stay on this occasion, we hope it is not too long until the next time. Kindest regards Chris Butler General Manager

My room is always ready, staff is always courteous and efficient. I travel to Notts regularly on business and always stay here and have never had a bad experience (once there was a bit of early noise from construction, but it has to happen sometime!). Thanks so much.

Quirky!

kellybM7548LJ Business - TripAdvisor review

Disappointed to find out when I arrived that the lift was out of order - I’d been travelling all day and had a big bag. Frustrating but they thankfully put me on the second floor so could have been a lot worse but was still a struggle. The room was tiny. It had everything I needed but I had to lean across the bed to get the bathroom door open. Not keen on there being an Alexa in the room as no idea of its privacy setting may which put me off making the few work calls I needed. When I turned the tv on it came straight up with the adult channels - and guess it was from the previous guest but not the welcome I wanted! Scaffolding all outside the hotel - I know works have to be completed but I wasn’t comfortable with the scaffolding boards literally right outside my window. I woke at 3am to noises out there and didn’t get back to sleep so after several episodes of True Crime and Life in the Sun, I got up early and started my day! Breakfast was nice - staff in the dining area were really lovely. Easy to check in and out. Appreciate it’s a very old building so the wonky floors and creaks in the night had character!

Dear Kelly, Thank you for your review. I am delighted to hear you had an enjoyable stay with us. I do however apologise should our scaffolding for works being completed have caused you any dissatisfaction. Our Alexa devises in the rooms are completely private but should you have any concerns you can remove the plug from the wall, thus removing all power from the Alexa devise should you seek any peace of mind. I am very sorry to hear of the issue with TV and will certainly speak to our team with regards to checking which channel remains in place prior to our guests checking in. I thank you for your kind words about our breakfast and team in there. This is wonderful to hear and I will share this feedback with them. We truly appreciate you having chosen to stay with us on this occasion. Kindest regards Chris Butler General Manager
