"the worst IBIS I am been so far"
15th September 2013
I was hoping for a better quality, I know IBIS is good value for money hotel but in this case the Hotel was absolutly under the normal standard for the Accor chain. We were staying on the 6th floor , with a very bad smell in the corridor, roof from corridor falling apart, carpet on the floor destroied and flipping up,stain and humidity on the walls, the room was ok, but I had to call maintanince to repair air cond. ( was dripping water) and the bath has mould on sink and shower floor. In the morning a lady guest just stood outside my door screaming on the phone for half an hour before I got up and tell her off at 7.00 am. Breakfast was cheao so I could not espect more than what I get. For sure I will not go there anymore
"Great location but unusal arrangements"
6th September 2013, Singapore
This Ibis is well located just next to Yu Yuan or the Chen Huang Temple. Excellent to experience the real Shanghai with many local food as well as international. The unusual experience is on Tuesday, many rooms were occupied by Jade Sellers. These sellers lined their precious stones on the bed in each room and interested buyers wonder from room to room to buy and sell. Very strange and I don't feel comfortable. In addition, many rooms have only a fake window with lighting to simulate day and night. Like living in a submarine
"no frills, inexpensive, great location MOTEL"
16th August 2013, 2FLYBOY2, Los Angeles, California, USA
The location is great: 10 minute walk to metro line 10, next door to yuyuan garden/plaza, 10 minute walk to end of the Bund walkway, and Tesco market across the street open from 7-20 hour. The hotel is your typical Ibis, basic accommodation at very inexpensive price (260RMB/night). Be aware of: loud construction on the 5th floor patio area that starts at 0700, internet connection is quite poor but free, and many of the guest seems to smoke which permeates through out the floors. Regardless, this Ibis is satisfactory and deserves being recommended. Post script, Ibis please clean those shower grouts; any bleach would wash those mildew away!
"Can't get worst"
18th July 2013, Mexicantravelling, France
Just passed three days in Shanghai. Ibis Yu Garden seemed perfectly located and usually Ibis is a guarantee of service and cleanliness. This one is a mess. Most of the time no one in the front desk speak english, their no-smoking room smell like a cigar bar (even towels), no windows in the room and next to the entrance of a terrace that was being renovated, so they had workers using loud tools, smoking and shouting at 7am on Sunday! When I complained they said they couldn't do anything. Then, at eight o'clock a guy with a huge vacuum cleaner start again to make noise, again, nothing to be done. The frames of the shower were all black and filthy. No safe in the room. Finally checking out I asked for a complaint form and the woman in charge of the counter ("Angel") would' care less and said it didn't exist.I changed to another hotel and the Ibis taxis will not take you if you are not going to the airport! Worst hotel in a very long time!
"Incredible bad experience"
5th July 2013, PTPTPTPTPTPT, Taipei, Taiwan
The front dest arranged me stayed in a room which was just next to the indoor construction site. I was woken up in the early morning because of the loud noise. It's was really non-sense and incredible arrangement.
