We had a wonderful long weekend at the Ibid Styles hotel in Chinon. We were thrilled with everything. The staff are great, rooms great, beds are extremely comfortable. Churning is absolutely delightful and a short walk over the bridge. What topped it all off is how reasonable the prices are. Oh. And the beautiful weather. Definitely return. Thank you.
Situated on the other side of the river Vienne, the hotel is in a quiet area and offers a beautiful view of Chinon and its castle. Be sure to ask for a 'room with a view'! Very comfortable bed, clean room and a good breakfast buffet.

the view from the hotel is superb and there is no traffic noise There are not many hotels of this price with swimming pool (did not know so no trunks)and a fitness room. With superb grounds Rooms were good but no air con the only disappointment was the " packaged " food in the restaurant but it was still more that exceptable

We stayed as a couple for three nights in mid September. We booked late and had a limited choice of rooms. We had to have a family room, so paid more than we had hoped. The hotel is slightly out of the town, a ten minute easy walk. This was a plus for us as the area is quiet and you sleep well. There is a car park to the front of the hotel. This was quite full for the duration of our stay as the hotel was quite busy. There is a school next to the hotel, and the area was busy at 8:00 and 18:00 with coaches picking up pupils, but was not a problem for us. Our room was a good size, with a settee, it was very clean with crisp bedding. We had a good view of the castle from a small balcony. We had breakfast, typical cold buffet style. On the first morning there was a limited choice as the member of staff on duty was slow to replenish, even though it was open for another hour and she was not busy. The other two mornings were ok. The choice could have been greater, one French hotel we stayed in on our trip offered boiled eggs. We appreciate that breakfast is not a big deal in France, but more imagination is needed here. We did not eat at the hotel in the evenings as there is a good range of places to eat in town. We did not use the pool or outside area. The staff on reception were all helpful and spoke good English (far better than my schoolgirl French). A couple of negatives. The hotel is busy, and has high rates of occupancy. However there is a lack of attention to detail. The curtain in our room was missing the last hook, and this was not rectified during our stay. I am sure that the management will comment that if we had brought it to their attention it would have been fixed. This is not the point, housekeeping should have picked it up, and it is a small job to fix it. The radiator in the hallway was not foxed to the wall and the fixing was left hanging. Rather unsightly. These are very small things and did not impact on our stay, but show attention to detail. We enjoyed our stay and would return again.
Found the hotel very wellcoming. Difficult travelling with small child after so many years. Room was perfect and extra bed well located. Staff were friendly and efficient and made sure that meals wre made easy - childrens menu . Situation in Chinon was really good right opposite Chateau.

Really enjoyed the overnight stay here on way to the Dordogne. Family room with a balcony overlooking the Fortress. Good nights sleep and a good relaxed breakfast. Staff helpful, parking good. Only negative was that the welcome pack for the kids wasn't offered, which would have been nice for them on their first night in France. Also a little more expensive than other Ibis Styles we looked at. Not far to walk up to the river and get a better look at the fortress.
