This Mercure is in a good location, but it is on a very busy intersection, which has a lot of traffic and nightlife - so if you want a quiet night, book a courtyard view room. We have stayed here several times Because they turn the aircon off between October and April, and there is no fan or heater control in your room, the rooms can get very hot and stuffy. You can open your window - but on the front that means you get all the noise and pollution in your room all night - that is not pleasant. Service is good, staff are good and the hotel and rooms are very clean. Breakfast is typical "hotel" style continental. However there is a fabulous bread and cake shop just round the corner, and plenty of decent restaurants and bars close by. If you looking for a big coffee, Starbucks is a long walk away, near Bastille, or McDonalds is next door. Finally not all taxi drivers know this hotel, so make sure you show them the address written down.
Dear Guest, Thank you for your post following your stay in our hotel Mercure Bastille Marais. Don't hesitate to ask us a room on the courtyard side for your next stay, it is very quiet. Best regards Mickael, General Manager
I stay in the hotel with my wife, for an extended week end. Hotel is really nice and staff is great; all as expected, and reasonably priced for the value. We had a standard room, no need for more and a good quality one. Single missing piece to get a 5 star rating is the breakfast, that is nice but can possibly be better (altough I have to say:true fresh orange juice and great expresso temped me for a 5 star.... theer is no 4.5, unfortunately) The hotel is near a metro station that will bring you straight to the Trocadero or downtown at LaFayette in 20 minutes, and around a lot of small shops for dinner and a walk are available.
Dear SKApretto71, All the staff is joining me to thank you so much for your comment. This is the only kind of "reward" we are looking for. We really hope to welcome you soon, and don't hesitate to recommend us to all your contacts. Be aware our name is actually changing for Mercure Paris Bastille Marais. Very best regards, M Chaigneau / GM
the hotel is well-located with easy access to metro and bus lines and is in the heart of a great neighborhood with wonderful restaurants. The staff is friendly and very helpful-made our stay so enjoyable.
Dear Tripadvisor member, Your comment is a nice sunshine in our rainy day in Paris. All the team is joining me to thank you so much for your comments, and we are very pleased to have met your expectations. We really hope to welcome you again in the Mercure Paris Voltaire Quartier Bastille during your next stay in Paris. Best regards, M Chaigneau GM
The luxury rooms are really great - Wifi works, coffee facilities - The non luxury rooms are good - though the wifi is good but a little hit and miss - breakfast is good too for France.... Although it is in the center of a busy part of Paris and with McDonalds next door - the rooms are silent and very adequate. The staff are great and very welcoming and professional.
well-designed room, excellent front desk staff and great location for touring all of Paris. Breakfast was not included with my room this stay but on a previous occasion, I found the breakfast to be excellent.
Overall a good experience, just 20 meters from Voltaire Metro station, pleasant area a little bit away from the main tourist areas with plenty of eateries and convenience shopping within walking distance of the hotel, price somehow high for what you get but I guess this is a common problem in Paris; hotel staff friendly and helpful, room was OK (quiet facing the courtyard) but rather on the small size, breakfast reasonable
Dear Guest, We would like to thank you for your comments about our hotel and staff. In our Mercure Hotel, all our staff is trying our best to offer a great service to our clients; therefore your feedback is very important for our team who works hard for giving you an impeccable service. We will always take clients’ demand into serious consideration and try to keep improving our service quality. We welcome you to come back visiting Paris and it would be our pleasure to give you warm reception again. Faithfully yours,
Nice people, good location, small room and expensive breakfast. Paris hotels are always a challenge as the balance between location, price, services and access to public transportation is a difficult one. We typically opt for a better price based on accepting less room and for a better location.
Excellent location at Place Voltaire, very close to Bastille and Père Lachaise, with bars and restaurants of all sorts. My room was quite small at the second floor, and I'd rather try one on the higher floors, but very clean, intimate and full of comfort. It's an old Parisien building, with a professional welcoming staff, and quiet and cozy environment.
Dear Guest, Many thanks for your nice comments on Tripadvisor. We are really pleased to read you enjoyed your stay in our hotel and you found our staff professional and welcoming. Our location close to Bastille Place and Père Lachaise, and city center, is generally most appreciated. We hope to welcome you again, Kind regards,
If you are coming from outside Europe, do not stay at this hotel. Rooms are so small, you will get a shock on entering the room. Besides the bed, there is no space in the room to even keep 2 luggages. I was told by hotel that's how hotels are in Europe. But still for a 4 star rated hotel, I have expected better room size. I booked standard king size bed room, but it seems definition of king size bed is different in Paris than rest of the world. They have not even put up a big board outside hotel indicating the hotel name. I have difficulty tracing it.
Dear Customer, Firstly, I am sorry that your stay did meet what you expect. Our hotel has several types of rooms, all modern and contemporary style in warm tones and the more spacious rooms reach of 30 sqm. We would be happy to introduce you to other rooms on your next visit to Paris. Thank you for the return, in which we give greater attention Regards
I've stayed twice at this hotel. Its location is not near main Paris attractions but in front of a subway station (Voltaire). There are many restaurants, cafés and supermarkets next to it where I can feel the true Paris. Very good breakfast. A kind staff.
