Stayed at the Ibis, Tamworth recently and although the room was a half price deal it still wasn't good value.The room was right at the end of the accommodation block and had an annoying machinery noise throughout the nice which kept me awake all night.I purchased dinner in the restaurant and ordered at 8:25pm, the kitchen closed at 9:00pm. I only ordered a steak sandwich and hot chips. The steak sandwick turned up between two pieces of toasted white bread (rather than the rustic role described) and the chip clearly had been sat for an extended period of time and were completely cold and in-edible.When I pointed this out the staff member simply said "No worries I'll get you the bill!".I would not recommend this hotel.

From the moment we checked in to the we moment we left we felt completely welcome. The male receptionist was very friendly and welcome as the lady who was on reception when we checked out. The dining room staff were good and friendly as well.View management response »

"potential to be great"

This hotel has the potential to be great. While the staff appeared to be friendly most of them did appear to be inexperienced and more focused on operations rather than the guests. The rooms we occupied were spacious, clean and the bed very comfortable. The menu in the restaurant was great however some of our meals were consistently served to the table cold each of the 3 nights, we attributed this to trying to time delivery of all meals to be served at the same time. This view was shared by other guests/friends we knew who also stayed and dined at the hotel this same period. The offering for breakfast was sadly lacking in all areas – variety, freshness of produce, cooking standard, presentation and service. In 12 years as an Advantage plus member dining in hotels we have never had such appalling breakfast on offer. Would be dine and stay again? Yes, when speaking of our disappointment to a staff member at reception we were told the Chef only had 1 week left. It is with this knowledge we plan to visit the hotel again next year. The hotel could benefit by a visit by more experienced hotel staff for training.
"Clean, warm and ok"

Easy to find and park. Very clean. Stayed in renovated rooms. Cant imagine which decade the un-renevated rooms reflect. Air-con is loud and bathroom is cold. Otherwise it is a little overpriced for what it is. Breakfast was clunky - service/food and appliances all could stand an overhaul.
