Mercure Krabi Deevana: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Beach GetAway!"

25th February 2013, Sun_Lunkya

Bookings via Accor with promotional deal is easy, and good value.Upon arrival, we had to wait at front office because there is only one staff that handles the check-in and he was serving another customer. The wait was about 15 mins. The staff that brought the welcome drink was slow. The number of staffs allocated per shift could be improved esp on a busy day. Mr Tuangsit was very courteous and speaks english well. Bell services are great. They help to arrange shuttles and always put on a big smile. Room was very clean. Furniture are sleek. The reading light however was placed at a bad angle. It should be placed from the middle, above the bed, facing outwards. Downside: shower gel and shampoo were used when we got to the room. I forgot to lift the 'don't disturb' sign, so house keeping didn't ring the bell when they're sending the items, however the bell boy recognised and reminded us, and sent it while we were out. Slippers are not provided in normal rooms, but house keeping got that sorted out upon request. I suggest the hotel to place a note nearby the bathrobe about the bathrobe and slippers are for sale if guests want to bring them back. Instead of not providing any slippers in room at all.Fridge was empty when we check-in. I think this is great because i can use it to cool fruits and drinks i bought nearby. This will also help to fasten the check-out process, since house keeping will have lesser items to check, and avoid having expired drinks.Breakfast was great with eastern & western staples. Cleanliness and quality of food is good. French toast, grilled/baked tomatoes, bacon are fantastic! Coffee and tea selection is limited. But there's warm milk.Location of hotel is rather secluded but a brisk walk to the popular AoNang. Around this area:1. About 400m walk to the jetty going to railay bay.2. Restaurant Luna Beach nearby Holiday Inn has nice view, but the food sucks big time.3. Hotel's shuttle stops at Starbuck AoNang. There are some stalls around that provides good local food at reasonable price.4. Snacks etc can be bought at Ocean Mart in front of Tipa resort. Reasonable selection and pricing.5. The infamous E-san restaurant is located opposite the Krabi resort. The wait was very long since it's very crowded during dinner, the food was mediocre and not the cheaper option around.6. If you plan to have massage next to the beach, wear your swimsuits. It's in open-air, open space, and usually full house.

Bad Quality of food and food services. Untrained chef and their knowledge. Just few food menu option for vegetarian.Good location and peaceful area. Room with balcony & Pool bar was the best. Reception staff was very friendly.

Mercure Krabi Deevana: 4.0 out of 5 stars "comfortable stay"

5th January 2013, AAFtokyo, Tokyo, Japan

It was clean and nice hotel. Most guests are families and we had quiet and peace nights almost everyday. This hotel was a bit far from most restaurants and shops but it was still walking distance even though we had 6 years and 4 years kids. One disappointed thing was that it was so difficult to communicate with hotel staff because they didn't speak/understand English enough. It was a bit frustrated for us.Last few days during our trip were a rainy. We had nothing to do and visited the kids club. It was a small space for very small kids. Our kids had nothing to do at there. They should have some creative materials and games to interest kids.Ao Nang beach was not very nice because water was not so clear as I expected, but beach services are good and cheap. It is much cheaper than Phuket! And it was so easy access to several small islands by a long tail boat. Water is so clean and nice to swim and snorkel. We are not sure we come back to Krabi next few years, but we will stay at this hotel again if we come back.

Mercure Krabi Deevana: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Kind of disappointed"

31st December 2012, asellton, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

If looking for a decent place to stay, I would say that this is a good place. Good location, peaceful, clean and green surroundings, and good wifi coverage. However, I am kind of disappointed with the arrangement for my anniversary. Emailed to the hotel for pre-arrangement 2 weeks earlier from the date I checked in and hotel staff replied that points noted and arrangement will be made. But on the check-in date, the room has not been house-kept yet and we were to wait at the lobby for 15-20mins, needless to expect for the "pre-arrangement" stuff. Can't find basic toiletries like shaver, comb, cotton buds, toothbrush/paste in this hotel. Bring your own pen if you plan to sketch your itinerary there.Hoping for some improvements from the hotel.

Mercure Krabi Deevana: 5.0 out of 5 stars "A nice hideaway!"

22nd December 2012, collins1987

This was a really nice hotel to stay at. Very family friendly if traveling with children and I loved the pool! Very refreshing. Breakfast in the restaurant was great and there was quite a large selection. Perfect start to the day! The shuttle was great and the walk was perfect too! Can be a bit of a hike for those that don't like to walk (about 15-20 minutes).. So be prepared to pay for taxis or uses the shuttle service if you don't like long walks. Ao Nang is such a beautiful place and so many places to eat. I wish we stayed longerto really explore.
