"5 STAR LUXURY - 5 STAR SERVICE"

This is probably one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The property is new so you would expect that everything is shiny & new and this hotel does not dissapoint, the stunning interiors from the lobby is carried through to the rooms. We stayed in a luxury room with Millsime lounge access and Pamela and the team went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable and memorable, even giving us a cake to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The staff at the concierge desk also went that extra mile helping us arrange transport, postage & letting us know all the benefits that came with staying at the Sofitel and informing us of all the attractions of Abu Dhabi. All I can say is that the Sofitel management should be proud of the team they have put together at this hotel!

"Luxurious"

We only stayed in Abu Dhabi Sofitel for one night. Everything about it from the minute we stepped through the door was wonderful. Friendly staff, very modern and luxurious, the beds were so comfitable and the bathroom and amenities exceptional. We would and have recomended this hotel to everyone travelling to Abu Dhabi

"So close to being great - but failed"

I stayed in a suite at the Abu Dhabi Sofitel for 6 nights in January. The room was excellent (certainly 1st class decor, facilites and comfort). Only little things were wrong - there was nowhere to plug in a hairdryer which was also near a mirror and there was no DVD player in the room (despite a DVD library for you to borrow from!). The staff were extremely friendly, but some of their "performance" seemed just that - something that they had learnt by heart, rather than responsive service focused on the customer. The hotel does not have the best location - it has no beach of its own, and no provision to get you to the public beach which is a 30+ minute walk away. The hotel's pool is permanently in the shade at this time of year, so no chance of catching any sun there either.My main disappointment was with the Club Lounge on the top floor. The lounge failed to "wow", which considering it often contained more staff than guests was a real disappointment. The food offerings lacked imagination, and "cocktail" hour was genorous but with severely limited choice (e.g. one red wine to "choose" from). The wifi was extremely slow (512 for free, 2GB if paid for) - and something (?firewall) blocked all video communication like FaceTime and Skype.The senior managers were certainly interested in our comments and seemed to take on board the points that we made. The sommelier came to the cocktail hour for example, and listened to the kind of red wine we were interested in before offering us a choice from the cellar.Overall, we had a good stay. But not the great one that I would expect from such a famous brand in such a competitive market as Abu Dhabi. I have confidence that they will try to improve, but it remains to be seen how well they succeed.

"Beautifully appointed, generous rooms, service exemplary"

From when you arrive to the beautifully decorated foyer – fresh flowers and wonderfully attentive staff, to getting to the rooms – it’s a haven of Overlooks the city and bay. Not on the beach front – if you want direct water access the Sheraton is right below the Sofitel and has a little bay with sand etc. There is a lot of construction in Abu Dhabi, noise and cranes go all night long - so a high floor is better for noise mitigation.We booked the executive floor which is small yet beautiful In Dubai Champagne was included in the executive flor happy hors but in Abu Dhabi I had to pay for the glasses of bubbles every night.Check in was done at the executive floor which was very restful. Pool area was a very relaxing – great food, and the pool was luxurious in the lounge chairs, seating areas and amenities. The in house Seafood restaurant was stunning food, service and freshness was send to none. The atmosphere was also really fun. Driving in UAE is insane – we used booked drivers through the hotel and still had to tell them to slow down on many occasions. Passing and driving at 160 km’s was the norm which we were not always happy with. Some of the driver were excellent and remained within safe limits and speeds. The hotel foyer had a very very good restaurant that offered any type style and amount of fresh or cooked and so many choices. It operated virtually anytime of day or night.We did ask on our last day as were travelling and between meetings for a quick sandwich to go and were advised we had to sit and eat. We then asked the Concierge Erwin could he get us some drinks and apples – which he did even though he was insanely busy. We would stay again.

"Jet lag retreat"

Very modern luxury hotel. Great staff and amenities. It is a good place to stop over to relax after the long flight from Australia. We had a club room and we were able to have breakfast, lunch and dinner with drinks in the upstairs lounge that had just opened. This was excellent and worth the extra room cost. Also had an excellent room with view over the Corniche and ocean.

"Great stay :-)"

A great room, great staff and great food. A little bit to eager staff, - but this that is probably due to few guests at the hotel. Better to be asked one time to much then not to be asked at all.The restaurant had a high standard, but the staff must learn the difference between a glass of wine and a bottle of wine. Ended up paying for a bottle of red wine and a bottle of white wine after to small glasses og each bottle. The order was a GLASS of wine. Great wine though.All in all thanks for a great stay! I will be back.

"Abu Dhabi Stopover"

Firstly, the Hotel; Magnificent; the staff. exceptional; the restaurants wonderful ( running out of superlatives ) Seriously cannot fault anything about this hotel. BUT, I recommend not to stay in Abu Dhabi in the hotter months. It averaged 43 degrees during our stay and it was simply too hot to walk around ( we like walking around). Another mistake was staying at the time of Ramadan. Had we not found a couple of local pubs ( PJ's and Cellar bar it would have been a very dry week indeed. )
