"Yarra Valley indulgence"

Very enjoyable stay @ Balgownie. Fabulous views, excellent service, devine food and wine. Our room sadly was the only letdown being in need of a thorough vacuum and removal of cobwebs/bugs on outside balcony.

The privilege spa room was very nice with balcony which overlooked a fantastic view. Having breakfast on the balcony while air balloons passed by! Lounge was good size and there was also a separate bedroom.

After a hectic Christmas time with family and friends, my wife and I really needed a recuperative weekend away from hustle and bustle.Balgownie really provided this break for us.My wife was re-energised by the Massage at the Spa, the suite was everything that we could ask, being spacious with excellent views, and the restaurant provided meals of good quality.We really enjoyed our break, being ready for the coming year.

This hotel is set with amazing views and is very peaceful. Staff at reception were helpful but overly busy so I didn't get that warm reception that I generally prefer.The room was lovely - could really get settled. Only downside was that there was only 1 knife and 1 wine class - we got that fixed in the morning, but things like that at the price you pay I believe should be checked. Interesting position for the spa as well but all good.Health club was fantastic too. Had a meal in the restaurant, which also was very enjoyable.Overall a great stay.

Balgownie Estate is the ideal place to base your self when exploring all that the Yarra Valley has to offer. The resort is set on a hillside, with fantastic views over the valley. It is a short drive to many other wineries and only minutes from shops in Yarra Glen. All rooms have a view over the valley. Our spa room was spacious and comfortable, with everything you need for a short stay. We asked for a coffee plunger and it was delivered to our room within minutes. Although small, the pool and gym area is very clean and well maintained, with plenty of towels for guests. Check-in/check-out service was efficient and friendly. We would certainly recommend doing a (free) wine tasting. The wines are well worth trying and the service was fantastic (thanks Mark). Our dinner in the restaurant was very good, although initial service was very slow, especially the wait to have our order taken. Overall, we would certainly recommend a stay here and would be likely to stay again ourselves.

Had a great stay, with a great 5 course dinner in Rae's for the NYE banquet. Room was very good, customer service was excellent, and the grounds where awesome. Tennis courts, vineyards and only a short drive from Melbourne. Had been to he winery before but never stayed, would certainly recommend it.

Room (501) had loundry bags and vacum cleaner in front of the entrance door.Dirty tea spoon in the draw. Requested upgrade and charged $ 50.00/ night extra Had lunch, ok 60/100. Staff cleads tables with not so clean towels, down onto the carpet.Same crumbs on the carpet from lunch at dinner time. It has not been vacumed.Dirty plates for breakfast, Terrible " Fresh Fruit " .........Decided to have lunch and dinner in Healsville.........

Birthday girl stayed with husband and were pleased to be upgraded to balcony suite.The good! (room wasn't cleaned - mistake from ??? The bad!)Maids were amazing in getting it done in front of our eyes. The great! Complimentary bubbles were appreciated. The appreciated!Love the wine tasting without fear of driving. Pity the Accor card wont work for breakfast!Reception apologised profusely. Thank you. Did I say - Location is stunning!

We found the hotel in a beautiful spot and the facilites very clean and comfortable. However, we were disappointed in the service that we found at the hotel. First our key wasn't able to operate the pool, sauna area. Toileteries were not replenished during our stay and the restaurant staff were, at times, quite unprofessional.

Balgownie estate is highly recommened. Fabulous staff, particularly the gentleman at check in and the gentleman that did our wine tasting, food was amazing, room was gorgeous, especially with the complimentary upgrade and cant be faulted. Will definately be back!

Great resort hotel with excellent facilities, highly recommended for those who plan to visit Yarra Valley. Will definitely recommend to family and friends etc. Especially like the walk around the resort, the swimming pool and steam room. Good food served at Rau restaurant.East access from Melbourne.
"Would stay again, but don't book a taxi"

This hotel had everything going for it - location with views, balcony, very comfortable beds and room, plenty of space, a reasonable size fridge, plus more.If you want to book a taxi, be aware that the taxi service is unreliable. We booked one for the evening with the afternoon receptionist who did not warn us. When we went to reception at the time booked, there was a different receptionist who informed us of the unreliability. Our taxi did not arrive, and we had to drive. It would have been much better to know about this problem in advance!

I traveled to Balgownie Estate with my partner and enjoyed every single second of it! On arrival I was greeted by a friendly male staff member who checked us in quickly with a friendly warm welcome. He advised me of the available times for restaurant bookings and gave clear instructions to the room location. That night we had a meal in the restaurant and were lucky enough to be served by a waiter named Frank. Frank was fantastic - He was very relaxed and professional and made us feel at home. I had the pan roasted lamb and it was the best lamb i have EVER eaten, and for me, that is a VERY big statement. In the morning my partner realised he had forgotten to bring along the shower cover for his cast (he has a broken leg), so I went and asked a male housekeeper if he had a garbage bag we could use. He didn't have any bags on him but went out of his way to go and get one for me, not only 1 but a few "just in case". Later that morning we checked out and were served by the lovely operations manager who provided us with information on what to do for the day. All in all - a memorable and positive experience at Balgownie Estate. All of the staff who I encountered throughout my stay should be commended for their positive attitudes and outstanding service. Aside from outstanding service, the rooms were big and clean and the bed was very comfortable.I am already planning my next trip to Balgownie Estate cannot wait!!Keep up the good work!
