As holder of Accor Advantage Plus Card, we enjoyed a good discount on both our room rate and meals. The studio suite we stayed was spacious, clean with a nice seaview. The only disappointment was no steak in the restaurant menu. However, the Thai pumpkin soup, scallops entree, chips, steamed veges were very nice.
Hi peter6686KT, Thank you for your review of our hotel of your stay with us. Being an Accor property members do receive some great discounts. And as you would agree we are in a beautiful location. We pride our self on our restaurant and service. Executive Chef Andy creates and produces some amazing food. During your stay you actual had the last week of our winter menu, but as of Monday 26th October the Chef has launched our new Spring/Summer menu,,,,,which does have a delicious eye fillet on it. We change our menu seasonally, and use the best of local produce we can get. So next time you visit us we can get you that steak. Again, thanks for taking the time to write a review and we hope we see you back again one day in the future. Regards, Warwick Tomlinson General Manager
A wonderful location for exploring the eastern end of Kangaroo island. Comfortable rooms and excellent restaurant. We spent two nights on the other end of the Island and it was like coming home to the Mercure.
I am a paraplegic with limited mobility, this property suited my needs for access. However, it would be difficult for people in wheel chairs to negotiate around. That being said it is a lodge on an Island. The staff were fantastic in particular Alison, Tim & Jacqueline. The food was great and the atmosphere was perfect. The Island has electric cars available for hire and there is a charge point not far from the Mecure.
Bill, So glad your wife and yourself had a great stay with us. I will pass on your feedback to the staff and to the Chef regarding the food, Hope to see you back again one day. Kind regards, Warwick Tomlinson General Manager
Definitely a nice place to stay with the family or even friends. Warm reception at the front desk, decent sized rooms and excellent food especially for dinner! Location not the best cos we had to drive out of the area quite a bit, but it is not a big issue. Had the buy 2 free 1 night stay at this hotel and it was definitely a good deal!

We found this to be a very pleasant and enjoyable location. Studio room was spacious with an excellent size of bathroom. Pleasant views out to sea in a small community. Enjoyed the coffee. Breakfasts and dinners were very pleasant. Local wine lists were great. Staff were very helpful.

Compliments to Warwick(?), GM and Tim for being so welcoming, warm and attentive to our family whilst we visited KI for 3 days. They are true assets to the Accor Group. We had our kids and an elderly parent join this trip. The rooms were spacious and clean. The only drawback was the inconsistent water pressure and water temperature. If we are to visit KI again, we would stay there again without doubt.
Staff delightful and helpful. Evening meals lovely although unexplicably long waiting times for meals. Breakfast very ordinary which is not the usual Accor standard. We had a standard room for 3 nights which was fine. Then had to return for another night as the ferries were cancelled and we couldn't get off the Island, so were nicely upgraded to a Superior room. Room bigger & view better but the bathroom was not nearly as nice as the standard room and tiny.
We have just spent four nights at Mercure American River on Kangaroo Island. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was large and comfortable, very clean and well equipped. We only had one breakfast at the hotel due to early departures for sightseeing. The only hassle was dinner on the Wednesday night when it was served cold (fish). The cook gave us a complimentary cheese platter but it was all sheep cheese, no variety. Otherwise the meals were just great. We later learnt that the Wednesday night was some sort of a steak night, the restaurant was very busy. Perhaps we didn't order the right meal for the night? Would we stay again, most definitely and would we recommend this hotel, we already have! Felex and his staff were great.
