A basic no frills hotel with very clean room and ensuite, quiet and easily accessible from the motorway.

Unfortunately this was our worst start ever to a family holiday. Having left London at around 3pm and driven through France for about 6 hours we arrived in Saint - Victor to find no sign of ETAP Hotel. We managed to find an industrial hotel park just off the motorway where you find the usual Premier, Formula 1, etc. but no Hotel ETAP. The Sat Nav couldnt pick up the address and we must have driven around Saint-Victor (which is small a sleepy village) 5 times without any joy.Bearing in mind it was just before midnight (and we had a 2 year old and a 5 year old dying for their beds) this wasnt good news. The booking form provided us with a telephone number which we called several times from 2 phones and we couldnt get through to the Hotel. To make matters worse, when we contacted the Accor Hotel Group we were helpfully told that you can only complain via FAX - which doesnt help when you're on your holidays! On our return home we had booked a Novotel which is actually part of the Accor Group of Hotels (i didnt know this at the time). I asked the reception to help in contacting the hotel ETAP Montlucon to get a refund. All they could provide me with was a email address for the hotel's manager but i thought this would be far easier than a fax! I emailed the Hotel's manager 10 days ago and then again 3 days ago and I still havent heard anything back. I'm totally hacked off.

A modern Etap hotel. Good rooms and usual facilities. Only down-side is finding it. SAT NAV doesn't know where it is! It's outside of town in new area. Better address needed for SAT NAV's to find it. Breakfast not quite as goos as some others we stayed at.
