Mercure Hanoi La Gare: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Great location"

4th May 2012, Jad0reV0yager, HKG

I stayed here for 3 nights. The room is clean with stylish decor , the bed is comfy and the aircon is quiet. It's located in the French Quarter, the Old Quarter is a 20-min walk away or around VND17,000 by cab, the railway station is just opposite to the hotel. The breakfast is good and the staff is nice and cheerful. The only thing is the glass panel of the shower tub, it's not big enough to prevent the splash of water over bathroom floor.

Management responseDear guest,I'm very happy that your experience met your expectations and will make sure that your kind comments are passed by to each team.Newly appointed as GM of the hotel, I've been assessing the rooms and some of them have an issue with the size of the window protecting the rest of the bathroom from getting wet. This is going to be a priority for me to solve.I hope we'll be able to welcome you soon.best regards,Vincent Delsol

Mercure Hanoi La Gare: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Decent rooms but whats the point if you can't get a good night's sleep"

4th May 2012, ccboon, Bangkok, Thailand

Hotel wasn't bad but since its next to the train tracks, the train's horn woke me up at 4:30 in the morning! Right when I was about to fall asleep again, another horn! It's time to upgrade your windows, Mercure!

Management responseDear guest,I'm the new general manager of the hotel since the 1st of May. I'm taking your comments very seriously and will make everything possible for this technical problem to get a solution as fast as possible. As a matter of fact, I've been living in a room on the train station side for 1 week and I understand your point, though coming from a noisy city like Paris, that sound isn't a nuisance but part of the folklore. In order to be precise, our windows are double-glazed and of high performance. Though the horn of the train used by the drivers to warn the people for them to stop crossing the railroads is very loud. The windows block part of it. In the meantime if you decide to come bqck, I'll be happy to welcome you myself and to place you in a rear room where it's very peaceful.Nevertheless, I'm glad to read that except for that point, our hotel met your expactations and hope to see you again.Best regards,Vincent Delsol

Mercure Hanoi La Gare: 3.0 out of 5 stars "weekend in Hanoi"

29th February 2012, Oban14, Vancouver, BC,

When we arrived at the hotel, the reservation was somewhat mixed up and said that they could not find rooms for everyone in our party - 5, 3 rooms. This was eventually sorted out. The rooms are a little on the small side, but the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast, which is provided, was adequate. There are a number of good restaurants within walking distance of this hotel. Overall, the hotel is good for a night, but would prefer to be closer to the heart of the old city.

Mercure Hanoi La Gare: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Great service"

13th June 2011, Beijing

We stayed at this hotel twice and both times we were impressed. The service was excellent, the rooms were neat, tidy and had fantasic amenities. The bed was soooo comfy - could sleep forever. Highly recommended!!

Management responseThank you for comments. Consistency in the level of services is essential and I am glad we were able in both stays to provide you with the same level of quality we want to give to all our guests all year round. And about our bedding, I cannot agree more with you!Best regards,Yves SubsolGeneral Manager

Mercure Hanoi La Gare: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Mercure Hanoi La Gare"

14th April 2011, Hong Kong, China

Nice clean room, very good a la carte food in the restaurant. A bit disappointing breakfast buffet considering the price of the breakfast (USD12). About 20 minutes walk away from the usual sightseeing spots such as the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum etc. So not exactly central location but still convenient. Overall good deal for money.

Mercure Hanoi La Gare: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Nice hotel"

7th January 2011, Madrid

I had a booking and the hotel quickly managed to to change the booking as per my request.
