"Our Marriage Anniversary stay"

"Good, relaxed stay"

Quite liked the stay especially the location. Rooms are clean but overpriced for whats on offer. Its more like a business hotel but priced like a luxury hotel! No complaints as far as room quality or service is concerned. But its not value for what one pays. Overall, I would rate it as good and would most likely go again if an opportunity arises.
"Very Bad Experience - Specifically on overall Service"

I chose this hotel with good expectations, however I had a very bad experience from the time of check in till check out.The moment I got down from my taxi at hotel gate...I was amazed to see that hotel boys standing there but no one willling to help with luggage..I had to ask them for help. Now I reached reception for check in..The front office guy mentioned the room is not ready yet and it will take half an hour to get the room ready. I agreed to wait at reception and front office guy said, he will inform me once room is ready. I kept waiting and then after 45 minutes I went to front office guy to check, he said another half an hour...and my waiting went on till 2 hours. Finally after 2 hours when I went at reception the front office guy was changed and he said room is already ready from quite a while. I dsaid if it was ready why I was not informed, they did not had any answer. When I complained they gave me a upgraded room. Now I came to hotel room...I was feeling to have a tea checked the tea maker...but that was complicated and I called guest service to send some one for instructiosn to use it...no one turned up even after calling guest service thrice and eventually I went to corridor and asked a house keeping guy on duty in corridor to help me. After my tea, I went to washroom and discovered flush is not working in the washroom...I complained, someone came did some repair..it started working...This is ow first day went...Second day started I went for breakfast included in my rates, no on there to helpme allocate a table..had to find and ask ...came to hotel room and again discovered flush is not working again...I called up duty manager ..after my aggressive ness they changed my room.....anyhow stay completed and I came for check out at 5 AM in morning....this guy took payment and everything however I realized this guy did not give me a bill of my stay...no one helped to take my luggage till taxi...A expensive hotel with all basic services missing....Not a worthwile stay at all and very bad experience.View management response »

"The brand Novotel is tarnished by bad management."

We had booked three rooms on a higher floor sea facing but on check in at 4 pm only one room was made available with the excuse that the hotel was fully booked . The water in the toilet was leaking the whole night and the shower not working . The wooden flooring was sticky as if had not been cleaned for days.The breakfast served was average and the staff had a laid back attitude. Please wake up .View management response »

I stayed here for approximately 3 weeks for a combined business trip and family holiday. The rooms are a decent size, well appointed, well maintained and kept clean daily. The evening turn-down service was a nice touch although I found it a bit superfluous.Room service was prompt and food was of a good quality. Breakfast was a large buffet style affair that had most things we wanted (i.e. fresh cut fruit, cooked to order omelettes, sausages/baked beans/etc, good selection of pastries and juices).I never ate at the other couple of restaurants, but other guests told me the food was good.We got a room on the executive floor at a steep discount during a promotional period. This means it was good value for money as we were also able to used the executive suite which had its own quieter breakfast buffet and a limited selection of evening nibbles and drinks (inclusive) which more than sufficed for dinner on many evenings. The executive suite has lounges intermixed with dining tables, along with computers with internet access, photocopying/scanning/faxing facilities, and a business meeting room.The pool and is lovely, although it was cold to swim in when we were there (January). Pool-side lounges are comfortable and you can order most beverages and a limited menu of food whilst enjoying the view over the pool and the ocean.The gym is average sized and includes the basics. I found the always-present personal trainers helpful when called upon to assist with a routine. The availability of complimentary fresh fruit was a nice touch.I had a lovely upper body massage at the spa, although it was expensive compared to other options in the area. They had just opened a beauty therapy salon when I was there, but I didn't get a chance to try it out.I found the plentiful staff were generally attentive and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble to organise for me even when I had a couple of unusual requests.I only have minor criticisms:- sometimes the coffee service at breakfast was slow, sometimes it was difficult to get pool-side service, sometimes they ran out of hand towels in the gym, and it took a while too long for them to organise a kettle to replace the coffee machine in my room (at my request). But frankly if that's all I have to complain about then it was pretty much one of the better resort-style hotel stays I've had over the years, and its easily one of the best Novotel Hotels I've stayed at across the world.View management response »

Breakfast selection and all restaurants were very good except for the Olio where the italian food was rather stodgy. I could not figure out why they provided teabags and mugs when the espresso machine could not provide enough water to fill a mug. As it was the last day I did not bother to ring for help.The rest of my family however did experience some disturbance from the service lift.View management response »

I arrived at the hotel on the 12th of Dec @ ~4am and was welcomed to the hotel, albeit with limited staff. Was shown to the room and baggage delivered by the porters promptly. Room was clean and well presented. The room i had was a standard, so cannot complain about the view overlooking the sewage pool to the left of the hotel! Room amenities were good, usual stuff like refreshments, TV, cable, rain shower was heaven especially after a 12+ hour trip. The king size bed was big enough to accommodate my family comfortably - 2 adults and 2 kids (aged 2+6).I would stay here again without hesitation. One word of advice, if you need FX or a mobile SIM, i would pay a visit to the vendor shops outside the hotel perimeter for better value.Location was great, with access to the beach from the rear of the hotel. Hotel is very security conscious, which i liked, which screened and limited guests to the lobby area as the lifts need room cards to progress to the resident floors.All of the hotel staff were very polite, courteous and had a helpful attitude - which is testament to the ethos instilled by Novotel.View management response »

I stay at many hotels all around the world for work.this hotel is in a great location close to many good restaurants.the buffet breakfast is also good.a gentleman at the front desk named Roy was very helpful.he deffinately makes ur stay more enjoyale because he really goes out of his way to be of help.the lounge access that comes with a premium room are definately worth it.there are free drinks & appitizers from 6pm it is a great way to unwind after a long day.the spa also has great service & the gym is very good.there is also a very popular bar in the lobby of the hotel with a great view of the sunset in the evenings.i deffinately recommend this hotel.I have stayed here many times & as a woman travelling alone i feel very safe here & it is hard to find a hotel that has consistent good service even after so many stays.View management response »
