We chose Orleans for a stopover on the way south through Fance, and an Ibis Styles due to our experience of the brand and the proximity to the Autoroute. The Hotel was tired and in need of some TLC - the staff were O.K., Overall we have stayed at many better Ibis and Ibis styles Hotels. Directions for the last 400 metres were not good, despite the proximity to the Autoroute. Not representative of the brand.
We probably would have been happier with our stay here had we not been subjected to a film in Reception showing other Ibis Styles hotels in France that made us wonder why the one we were staying at wasn't as smart or large as them! We stayed here twice, with another couple, on our way to and from a holiday in the Dordogne. We received a friendly welcome both times, although the lady who welcomed us on 3 July had a bigger smile than the gentleman on 25 June! Our room was small but fine for one night and the bed was enormous and very comfy. Only 3 pillows and we couldn't be bothered to go down to reception to ask for a 4th. As soon as I entered the room I could have kicked myself for forgetting my travel kettle since I'd forgotten that hotels in France don't give you the opportunity to make a hot drink in your room. Happily we could make ourselves a drink in Reception and there was a good choice of fruit teas, if you like that sort of thing! Best of all, there was decaffeinated coffee available. The new, smart trams go into the centre of Orleans from close to the hotel, which is at the end of the line, and for 1.5 euros you can get a single ticket to Charles de Gaulle stop. We did this on both visits so we could eat in the city since the hotel's evening meal menu didn't inspire confidence. To find the tram stop cross the roads opposite the hotel and turn right then follow the tram tracks. Breakfast at the hotel was fine although it was hard to find a mug that wasn't chipped. It would have been pleasant to have sat outside the hotel on arrival, since it was hot and Reception didn't have air con, but there were no chairs outside. The air con in the bedrooms was good. This is rather a tired Ibis Styles Hotel - we stayed in a smarter one later on the same holiday, but it was perfectly OK for one night.
A clean room, comfortable bed, free wifi & a good breakfast, good value for money. The location, just off the auto route, was excellent for an overnight stop on the way to Spain. We were initially disappointed that the restaurant was closed (Sat night) but several others within easy walking distance.
Comfortable bed, friendly staff, great night's sleep - what more can you ask for in a budget hotel? Decent sized room with absolutely massive, very comfortable bed. Unlimited free tea and coffee available in reception. Breakfast was more than adequate. My husband did stub his toe on the door stop in the room on no less than 6 occasions although I didn't at all - not sure what that says? This was our last stay in budget hotels from Menorca to the UK and I have to say it rated with the best.
The Hotel is well situated near the A 71. Reception lady extremely friendly and helpful. Reception and Restaurant very clean. Unfortunately Restaurant was closed. Picked it specially because it had a Restaurant, but we had to go out. Breakfast was good. Room small, but ok. Can't say that for the bathroom. Shower riser almost falling off the wall. The grouting above the bath was very dirty. The soap dish screwed to the wall has seen better days. The bathroom needs serious refurbishment. Ibis/Accor would not get away with this in the UK
