"Never again"
28th February 2013, Rob H, Albion park
Started well at check in. No problems.NOT possible to sleep in this room due to noise levels from the street. Yelling and screaming , burnouts e tc stopped about 3am and street sweepers started about 4am.Had to check out next morning as couldn't bear to stay another night.Staff did try to offer another room but by this stage our stay for our 25th wedding anniversary was destroyed. We thought it would be special to stay in the Heritage suite.I can't believe the hotel did not post warning when booking that this room subject to excessive noise levels.
"A grand Old Building"
25th February 2013, jingo14, Victoria
This is certainly the best location in Hobart. The building is very old and justifiably classified. Before going here for the first time you need to ask about access to their carpark. This is behind the building which you will never find if you are not directed, parking in front on the street in front for even a few minutes may incur a parking ticket !However when coming in the rear of the building from the car park, the signage is very poor. There is quite a walk through several corridors and open areas with only one visible sign saying reception. This needs to be addressed. The compendium in the room stated a stocked mini bar, however apart from some long life milk inb mini containers it was completley empty !Ironing board was also absent, but was delivered very promptly.I did not dine in at all as I had other meetings to attend outside.Room was on the first floor directly above the foyer/dining area.Breakfast preparation stars at 6 am so the clatter of cutlery and plates woke me up.Sugest get a room away from the first floor area above the dining area.Overall an average place but the location is excellent, and if you are only ataying a short while a good choice.Front desk very helpful.

Management responseFisrtly thank you for your recent feedback on TripAdvisor. Ou location is very good and I'm so pleased you enjoyed being central to everything on your stay here in Hobart. Hadley's is an iconic building within Hobart and due to the heritage nature of the building we are trying very hard to work within those guidelines to increase the comfort of our guests. I have passed on your feedback regarding the front office team to the front office manager who is delighted his team were able to assist you on your trip. I have also spoken to housekeeping regarding the outdated compendium that was in your room and endeavoured to have them check the rooms to make sure the compendiums are up to date. We hope to see you again next time you travel to beautiful Hobart!

"Oh Dear"
25th February 2013, Melcelppus, Coast of NSW Australia
This was a gift from our children to celebrate an important birthday milestone. We were so excited to be visiting Tasmania for the very first time! We were told this was an excellent and higher end motel. No airconditioning was the first problem in high summer with above average temps.Bins were not emptied on one day, which was fixed by a call to reception. The fridge was not checked that it was working before our arrival. This area of the motel was very old and historic which was fine in itself, but the mould in the grouting, the fluff in the corners of the bathroom and the smeared mirrors did not make you feel you were in a immaculate room. There was a cornice missing from the curtain rod, and the television and its reception was archaic. The directions given to us about where our room was in conjunction to the car park was poor, and we were not given any information in the room for local restaurants, sights and maps for getting around. We found that in the foyer, but perusing at your leisure is more conducive to comfortable visit in a new city.So sad that the heat of the weather put a dampener on our stay in this old dignified place. A small desk fan was the only relief from the internal room.We found Tasmanian people helpful and proud of their state.I would choose a different place to stay if you are visiting in high summer.

Management responseThank you so much for providing us with a review of your stay on TripAdvisor. Firstly Happy Birthday, what a lovely gift from your children! You are right it has been unseasonbly hot in Hobart this year, my apologies about the temperature you experienced in your room, I do hope that the fan was able to alleviate it somewhat. I hope that you managed to find your way around Hobart and enjoy some of the sites of this beautiful town while you stayed here. I have passed on your feedback regarding the directions to your room and parking to our front office team. I hope we see you again next time you choose to visit Hobart.

"Old and Tired Hotel"
23rd February 2013, sandradiannestuart, Tamworth
Poor lighting, poor airconditioning, old, not clean, few power points, no mini bar, kettle doesn't fit under the tap, not enough towels. The quick breakfast option was good. Finding the car park was a journey that few people must return from.
