Mercure Hadleys Hobart Hotel - Previously Grand Mercure: 3.0 out of 5 stars "A little run Down"

6th May 2012, Sydney

in fairness to the hotel they were in a stage of transition with new rooms opening imminently (+ company that owns hotel is said to be in receivership). As such it was obvious some maintenance had been overlooked for at least the short term, e.g. toilet dripping & keeping me awake, wifi connection not working etc. Management were helpful & apologetic but my toilet still dripped for my whole five nights & I was never able to connect to wifi. I would give them another go based just on their attitude but would also hope for vast improvement.

Mercure Hadleys Hobart Hotel - Previously Grand Mercure: 4.0 out of 5 stars "North Melbourne's first home game in Hobart!"

14th April 2012

Great hotel in a handy position. Brekky a bit over priced. We had a large room and big bathroom. Our friends who booked at the same time and paid the same, had a room half the size of ours and a small ensuite. Not sure how that happened....lucky us I guess.

Mercure Hadleys Hobart Hotel - Previously Grand Mercure: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Beautiful hotel"

1st April 2012, Brisbane, Australia

Very nice hotel, great location. Little dissappointed that the roast and the soup were the same both nights that we stayed. Also we were on the second floor which involved going up the lift to the second floor then down 3 stairs, than up 3 stairs, than up another 4 stairs, then cruied through a long passage way, we were landen down with bags it would of been nice if the male receptionist knowing which room we were in would of helped us with our bags as their were 3 of us. One of which is an elderly lady.

Mercure Hadleys Hobart Hotel - Previously Grand Mercure: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Good hotel"

26th March 2012, Brisbane, Australia

The room was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Overall, the hotel looks a bit tired, but it is clean and in an excellent location, and the dollar value was very good.

Mercure Hadleys Hobart Hotel - Previously Grand Mercure: 5.0 out of 5 stars "A Touch of Class"

22nd March 2012, Sydney, Australia

We enjoyed the atmosphere of this lovely hotel which is well located in the centre of Hobart. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the sleep peaceful, because our room faced the atrium rather than the street. The only problem for some people would be the steps between the lift and the rooms on the 1st floor, but this is not problem on the other floors.

Mercure Hadleys Hobart Hotel - Previously Grand Mercure: 1.0 out of 5 stars "A sleepless time was had"

9th March 2012, Melbourne, Australia

Do not expect apartment accomodation at Hadleys as ther is none. We found out when we arrived to book in. We were given a hotel room (deluxe) facing the street . So much noise. 4 hours sleep per night on Thursday to Monday due to very loud pub 3doors down.Restaurant food options poor same menu every night. Breakfast was good but pricey. Will never go there again

Mercure Hadleys Hobart Hotel - Previously Grand Mercure: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Historic gem"

5th March 2012, Angie255060, Sydney, Australia

Take a step back in time - this hotel is just beautiful and has managed to match history with modern ammenities - although digital TV would be good!We stayed in an executive room which was really spacious and comfortable. As a hotel in the heart of the CBD it's always going to be difficult to have a noise-free night's sleep, although we weren't troubled too much by noise...we weren't there on a Saturday night, so maybe that might be a challenge! Had a fabulous stay, the staff were fantastic and very obliging. Our luggage had been sent to Melbourne instead of Hobart, but it was no effort for staff to bring it to our room just after midnight when it arrived, checking before they did so that it was convenient to deliver it. Breakfast was delicious and always fresh. Would definitely recommend this hotel!

Mercure Hadleys Hobart Hotel - Previously Grand Mercure: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Rooms too hot"

29th February 2012, Melbourne, Australia

The hotel has had a good reputation over time but is looking and feels drab. In addition it was a hot weekend but the air conditioning in the room was less than adequate providing very little relief. Tip - fix air conditioning.

Mercure Hadleys Hobart Hotel - Previously Grand Mercure: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Bathroom"

26th February 2012, Box Hill, Australia

Showers over baths are very inconvenient for "seniors" who have hip problems - maybe when next a renovation is completed baths are removed and replaced with showers - this would make life a lot easier.

Mercure Hadleys Hobart Hotel - Previously Grand Mercure: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Hobart visit"

20th February 2012, Melbourne, Australia

We enjoyed our stay, noisey on Friday night as we were in a front room, would have preferred a quiter location. Staff was helpful. Breakfasts were very good, however evening meals were not satisfactory. Linen quality was not good as two towels had holes. It appears hotel may be in process of an upgrade which will be an improvement.Garage access is currently unfriendly.

Mercure Hadleys Hobart Hotel - Previously Grand Mercure: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Hadleys in Hobart."

12th February 2012, Morrinsville - N Z

We stayed at Hadleys in Hobart for two nights. It was really central and we were able to walk down to the water. The rooms were nice and dark at night - something my husband appreciates. It had everything we needed. The reception staff were most friendly and helpful. The only drawback was that we had to use the fan (which was a bit noisy) at night as the room was quite warm. There didn't seem to be any air con. Other than that it was a lovely place to stay.

Mercure Hadleys Hobart Hotel - Previously Grand Mercure: 3.0 out of 5 stars "good location"

10th February 2012, Perth

Mercure Hadleys Hobart Hotel - Previously Grand Mercure: 3.0 out of 5 stars "service good room not so"

9th February 2012, Sydney, Australia

Lovely hotel but was very hard finding way to room and car parking area lift inside was very slow and easier to use the stairs. Room was standard not happy with the no view or a brick wall to look at bed comfy room dull lighting not very good service and staff in dining area excellent, thank s for the stay did enyoy hobart

Mercure Hadleys Hobart Hotel - Previously Grand Mercure: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Hadley's Hobart - suggestions"

9th February 2012, Adelaide, Australia

Noise is the biggest problem. Two problems- outside windows need to be acoustically sealed and double glazed against street noise and the bands of the adjacent hotel- connecting doors between rooms need to be acoustically sealed and door bottoms extended - so you don't hear the person in the next room using his toilet and seeing light under the door in the middle of thenight

Mercure Hadleys Hobart Hotel - Previously Grand Mercure: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Our trip to Hobart"

29th January 2012, Christchurch, New Zealand

The service provided by the staff at the hotel was excellent, everyone was very helpful and friendly. We booked our room over the internet and when we arrived our room was not the one shown on the internet, we asked for an upgrade which cost another $30.00 each night, this suite was beautiful but did cost us $180.00 Aus per night. The hotel was close to the wharf and activities but no middle of the road restaurants, either very up market or takeaways. We liked the upgraded suite, very relaxing. The dinner menu was our less liked thing, as it did not change the whole week we were there so went out to eat elsewhere.

Mercure Hadleys Hobart Hotel - Previously Grand Mercure: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Grand but Dated"

24th January 2012, Launceston, Australia

We usually stay at a another Mercure property close by but wanted a change. The room was Ok but facilities were a little dated. We upgraded to a larger room to get a better TV (Aus Open was on) but no flat screens available. We had a drink in the bar and found the prices almost double that of the tavern next door. The saving grace was that it was very quiet and we had a fabulous sleep almost missing breakfast

Management responseDear Guest,Thank you for your feedback,We are currently in the process of negotiation with liquor licensing Tasmania to resolve the noise issue from the tavern next door.We are currently in the process of resolving the issues throughout the hotel, such as TV’sKind regards,Duncan MarsGeneral Manager

Mercure Hadleys Hobart Hotel - Previously Grand Mercure: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Staying at Hadleys"

24th January 2012, Melbourne, Australia

Location is always of importance when staying in another city. Hadleys is very centrally located and you can easily walk to many places of interest around the harbour. Hobart is rich in history. It is evident in its old characteristic buildings. The bus services were excellent, both Metro and Tassielink enabling one to get around leisurely and not always rely on tours. However, excellent tours are availble. Hadleys Hotel is a beautiful old building, spacious rooms, very comfortable and staff were professional and most helpful at all times.
