Our ibis hotel in Girona is located to the north of the city, 12.4 miles (20 km) from the airport and close to the historic quarter. Outward. Booking in easy and efficient. Evening meal worse than Clermont Ferrand. The restaurant is supposed be dog free but the evening we stayed the male waiter allowed family with a dog into the restaurant, although a female member of staff pointed out that there should be no dogs, but obviously he must have been above her. When the family and dog left he was handed what looked like to be a nice tip!!! Return Journey. Checking in again easy. When we got to room bathroom lights were not working properly. Went to reception and informed them, was told someone will deal with it but nobody came. When we went to reception 30 minutes later, a female member of staff said he is French and did not understand you and there is no one deal with it. So we were given a different room. Nothing about their 15 minute policy and we was not offered the refund due. We did not have the breakfast as we felt that it was not value for money.
The hotel's standard and the staff's professionalism without remark, but the breakfast was a disaster. One kind of cheese,sliced, tasteless and slimy. Juice container filled with ill-tasting lemonade, definitely not fruit juice. Fruit was missing. The ham was of lowest quality and almost inedible. Even the coffee was bad. The first time I experience something similar at an Ibis hotel.
that´s about it! The hotel is reasonably new so the rooms are clean & tidy. The staff however are clueless about how a hotel should be run & have NO IDEA about customer service. And as for the food in the restaurant I don´t know where to start. Dinner was buffet style with some dried up cold meat & limp brown salad leaves for starters Main course consisted of dry over cooked fish or ribs or pink chicken raw at the bone, under cooked rice over cooked pasta & some mashed potato that was more like wallpaper paste. I did not have the stomach to even try desert. Breakfast was no better with stale bread & cakes & watered down fruit juice. It would be impossible to get anything more wrong. When any of this was mentioned to a member of staff it was met with a blank stare & no apology. Not what you expect from the Ibis brand.
