we used the hotel as a quick stop over arriving late evening and laving early morning.the room was fine for that purpose and was very clean.The staff were helpful and the whole experience was great value for money

"Clean & comfortable"

We have stayed in Etap hotels before and they are ideal if you want a clean bed and basic facilities. The rooms are clean, the bed is comfortable and the staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good value.

"Good location to visit Cardiff (car only)"

Conveniently located to be in Cardiff the next morning if travelling by car. Good value for money. No breakfast.

"Cheap And Cheerful"

For the price paid, an excellent room, clean, good shower, not a bad breakfast, have paid more and had worse!. Good location just off M4 yet no road noise. The booking was last minute as my usual hotel choice was full, and I was n't looking forward to using a 'budget' hotel, but I was pleasently surprised.

Ideal for what I needed and at a very good price. Would like to see tea/coffee making available in room though!Very clean room and very quiet. Not used the Hotel befoere, but would use again at the right price!!

quite happy with motel for the price -£18- it was outstanding value and surprisingly quiet for one positioned so close to a motorway. The staff were extremely helpful and there could be few complaints.

"The motorway view"

I stopped at your hotel as I was filming in Wales. The price was high for the basic services offered. Room very small for a double room. I would not have wanted to share. I can see more rooms more customers. But it was very small. toilet felt like a broom cupboard. I am not a little person. Best shower I have used though, just got in. Would have been nice to have had a coffee or a beer in the evening. Price was not too bad a little high for facilities. Not easy to find I did not find it clearly marked. Staff were OK

1. sleep was very gd,2. room was abit cold but was giving a small heater,3.wasnt happy with shower door it was glass and no space to get changed after it,4.location was in a good place wasnt far from where we w're,5.service was gd and also didnt have a problem with the parking,

"Would have been better if they'd put enough toilet paper in the loo..."

...and after a long journey late at night and I'd been downstairs once [no phone in the room] to find staff to turn on the A/C, I was just too tired to notice the small amount of loo paper. The service guy should have done it though.Recommended with large reservations about the bare accommodation [it's an Etap!] and this drop off by the service staff...

"Very good value for money, extremely handy location, no compromise on comfort"

I stay at this particular Etap every 2 or 3 weeks and the main reason why I have selected this hotel in the first place is because it allows me to get a good night's sleep and a wholesome breakfast in the morning to feel fresh and rested for my demanding business day in Cardiff which is only another 15 odd miles up the M4.If you value comfort, cleanliness, practicality and value for money Etap hotels are the perfect choice not only in Newport but all over the UK and Europe.

"The one that poeple miss."

Great value Hotel, convient for the traveler or buisnes/contractor, in the Newport area.Even though inches away from M4 motorway, negligible noise levels. Staff always friendly, polite & very welcoming.The chiller cabinet at reception offers the travel weary travellers, convenient snacks/drinks 24 hrs. Oferring both soft drinks or a chilled beer/wine at pub prices without the hassle of getting changed.

"Cheap but not cheerful"

You can't expect too much for under £35 for 2 with breakfast. The rooms are small and very basic and reminded us of a students bedroom. Marked white artex walls but clean bedding with a plastic shower concealed in the corner. The toilet door did not shut which once you were in you really could not move. At times there seemed lots of staff but not helpful or professional. Breakfast was OK for the price but it took a while for the bread to be topped up and there was no milk at all. A few pieces of cheese, a baguette and 2 small muffins seemed all there was available. The breakfast area reminded us of a doctors surgery. Upon checkout I was approached by a member of staff wearing a body warmer (he looked like a delivery driver) I advised him I was checking out and the response was 'Yeh ' There was No 'Thank You' or 'How was your stay' Really poor customer service. This type of budget hotel is certainly not for us and would not stay again.

"Very Good Value"

This is our second stay at Etap Newport in the last month. Value for money is excellent and the rooms are perfectly adequate with a great shower. We booked breakfast this time and would definately recommend it. Plenty to eat and great coffee. Staff were polite and helpful.

we found the staff friendly and very helpful, everywhere was clean. We were able to take our dog and there was a suitable exercise area close by. Breakfast was good value and plentiful. There was adequate free parking.

"Weekend at Etap Hotel, newport"

This is the latest in a series of short breaks over the last few years that my husband and I have spent at Etap Hotel, Newport. We have never been disappointed by our stay, having always been met with helpful, friendly reception staff who are always concerned that your stay is first class. The cleanliness of the facilities, for a budget range hotel, is of an extremely high standard.Though the hotel is situated in very close proximity to the M4 motorway the sound-proofing is excellent, thus ensuring that traffic noise does not disturb your sleep.

I felt this hotel was friendly and inviting, it was very clean and tidy and for the price was absolutely perfect for the needs of my holiday. It was located close to Cardiff and other cities and towns of interests. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

"Value for money"

We try to benefit from the special offers so that we can spend longer visiting family in the area. Cannot fault the value for money (£18/room). Breakfast is also value for money. Location great for visiting family. Have stayed at Etap Hotels in France - same value for money.
