Rockford Adelaide: 5.0 out of 5 stars "shortstay"

9th May 2012, tippi51, Adelaide, Australia

Staff as usual very helpful and courteous.I had conference at convention centre and it took 5mins to walk.It would be only 4mins if i hadn't had the 'magic' buffet breakfast !!Great position with easy parking within hotel. Look forward to our next stay.

Rockford Adelaide: 2.0 out of 5 stars "Not the best!"

7th May 2012, Hunted1001, Whangarei, NZ

Hotel was in a great location and was very nicely laid out.I arrived quite late and check in was very friendly.I had three things however which I consider relatively important when travelling which were not working.1. The TV in my room would not turn on at all, for a solo business traveller unfortunately sometimes the TV is your best way to relax. A man from reception tried to fix it but was unable to and maintenance wouldn't look at the issue until the morning. They did however comp me breakfast and supper as compensation, however they are things they don't really matter to me in the grand scheme, whereas having the TV to relax is a major.2. The internet wouldn't connect.3. The final straw was the Hairdryer wouldn't work either, so I ended up going to business meetings with wet hair - never a good look.Overall the staff were very friendly and apologetic for the issues but it has very much put me off ever staying there again.

Rockford Adelaide: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Rockford Hotel - Hindley Street - Wow"

5th May 2012, Captain_Cook49, Melbourne

What a pleasure it was to stay at this HotelThe experience started with a warm welcoming smile, a kind word and a super efficient check-in. The room was prepared and the temperature was set with the aircon to 22 degrees. A well stocked mini bar and an iPad to play with. The bar staff were attentive and knowledgeable about the restaurants in the area. I had searched on google for a Korean BBQ restaurant and had found one about 8 blocks away which looked good. The barman said there was one next door (which did not come up in google) which turned out to be superb. The stay was all that you could ask for as a business traveller and the check-out again was super efficient.the only negative would be that the onsite parking was $15.00 per night that was not stated in the information when I booked in.

Rockford Adelaide: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Spacious yet not fab location"

4th May 2012, Thetraveller27, Melbourne

We stay here on the Stay 3 pay 2 deal thoruhg the Accor webpage. Good hotel, spacious room with everything you need except the sliding door to the balcony didnt open?! Thankfully the windows appeared double glazed which cut alot of the street noise out.We had a function to attned in the suburbs on the Saturday night and returned to the hotel just before 1130pm- however the hotel is in the "disco" part of town with alot of clubs and loud msuic, lots of seedy looking people. Felt safe enough just a shame as the hotel itself is lovely. The breakfast is a major let down adn i would recommend you go to a bakery or other restaurant. The continental option is $24 PP! Buffet $27- where on earth is the fairness in that pricing!?! The carparking too you need to book in advance as their spaces are limited- note that the carpark is a VERY tight squeeze- we were travleling in a Ford Territory and had to do a 6 point turn to get into the space- so once in we didnt move the car again until check out!!!Would i recommend- yes if your just passing through but maybe not on a Friday or Saturday night!

Rockford Adelaide: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Stay at Rockford Adelaide"

30th April 2012, Melbourne, Australia

Hotel has been upgraded recently and rooms clean and well appointed. Some rooms have iPads in the room with complementary Internet. The one in my room this time did not work but hotel staff fixed it yet later in the evening it did not work again. The one thing that was poor with the hotel was that I tried to get room service for a buger and even though the room menu said they were available the restaurant would not do but but would do a much more expensive meal. I therefore had to go out to get a cheap easy meal. Other than this the hotel was good

Rockford Adelaide: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Great place to stay"

found the hotel to be overall very good, although on the deck outside our room there were lots of old cigarette butts, and windows were dirty. would stay there again.

Rockford Adelaide: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Very impressed"

22nd April 2012, ozegirl, Australia

We had a great stay here last week. Easy location to walk around the main hub of Adelaide and very close to public transport. The check in staff were excellent, friendly, informative and went out of their way to be helpful. Every time we went through the front foyer they always greeted us warmly. Our room was at the end and was huge. I think we may have been upgraded. It had a spa bath, lovely leather lounge seats and the bed was soo comfortable! The bathroom was large and spotlessly clean with lovely soaps & shampoos. We were not bothered by outside noise, as others had mentioned.Eat dinner in the restaurant, it was delicious food. The breakfast was also very good.Over all we were very impressed with hotel and will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

Rockford Adelaide: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Decent, but noisy."

13th April 2012, goombahrah, Perth

The rooms were nice, but the main disappointment was the amount of noise coming up from the pubs and clubs downstairs. Normally this wouldn't be so bad, but when you're driving across the country and all you want to do is sleep, it is a bit of an issue. The service was good as was the location, so if you want to spend a night out getting drunk and dancing then I suppose it's a great hotel to come back to.

My stay was most enjoyable however the room had a strong smell of stale cigarette smoke. Thank you..................................................................................!

Rockford Adelaide: 5.0 out of 5 stars "An excellent hotel"

18th March 2012, McLaren Vale

The rooms are large and clean and the beds are comfortable. We have eaten several times in the restaurant and always been happy with the food, and service. Reception desk and bar service also friendly and efficient

Rockford Adelaide: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Tasteful surprise"

Tastefully fitted and furnished. Quality service. Superior double glazing means quiet room and good sleep. Nothing lacking. Everything working. Large room.

Rockford Adelaide: 2.0 out of 5 stars "Wont be in a hurry to come back"

12th March 2012, Steve_Muller, Brisbane

Firstly I would like to say the front of house staff our excellent and what I would expect from a Rockford Hotel. The major problem I had was I arrived around 3pm and my room wasn't ready and had to wait 20 minutes not a huge problem but also one I wouldn't expect. The rooms are modern and generous in size, Flat Screen TV and even an IPAD to play with. The bathroom, well it wasn't clean, housekeeping thought I might want to use the previous guests shampoo and soap, once I complained it was taken care of but again I shouldnt have to complain to have a clean bathroom. The bed was the other problem I had, it was the worse bed I have ever tried to sleep in, it was completely worn down and I sunk to the bottom, again I complained and was assured that the mattress would be replaced, it was but again with a poor mattress.I have stayed here several times in the past and been happy with my stay but wont be returning anytime soon.

Rockford Adelaide: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Excellent position"

10th March 2012, Perth

Very good position, good service but the restaurant menu fall far too short (about nothing to choose from) Will stay there again because the rooms are large and comfortable compared to some of the other hotels around Adelaide

Rockford Adelaide: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Very convenient and friendly"

8th March 2012, Sydney, Australia

The hotel is situated about a ten minute walk from the main shopping centre,so it is convenient for shopping. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We would stay there again.

Rockford Adelaide: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Rockford Stay!"

29th February 2012, Jamestown, Australia

Very happy with the accommodation and size of the bed was wonderful. The car parking space was snug but still ok. The service we received when all the parking spaces were full was excellent from the staff member that helped us. We wil come and stay again.

Rockford Adelaide: 1.0 out of 5 stars "Most disapointing stay in a Hotel in 50 years"

27th February 2012, Durian1, Penang, Malaysia

Sorry to say, this hotel is everything a hotel should not be! From the moment we arrived until we left, we found more and more wrong with this hotel. IE: NOT a 4 1/2 Star hotel as claimed by AGM, they did not change sheets or pillow cases for four nights, assigned an intial room not fit for a dog house, rooms adjacent to street with noise so loud unable to sleep (did not know this was a red light district), GM to busy to meet with us although she had time to drink at the bar, must carry your own luggage unless you want to have the female receptionest leave the desk to help. Etc, etc, etc.

Rockford Adelaide: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Excellent Experience"

24th February 2012, Canberra

I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and found the experience thoroughly enjoyable. The room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The staff were very friendly and only too happy to help with directions, public transport timetables, etc. also, the bar downstairs was very comfortable and the staff here were very friendly and professional as well.

Rockford Adelaide: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Rockford surprise!"

19th February 2012, Adelaide, Australia

Loved the room with a spa. Great facilities in our room, with plenty of space and very comfortable bed. Options of eating in the resturant of room service was great, the menu was great and food delicious. Staff at the reception desk, especially Kim, was very helpful and friendly. We will be back.

Rockford Adelaide: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Average!!"

7th February 2012, adelaide

We stayed at the Rockford because of its close proximity to the airport & we were flying early the next day. We explained this to the reception staff member organising a wake up call & the need to access our car at 6am. We dined in the restaurant - one meal (pork belly) was very good the other (Steak) was disappointing being a poor cut of meat & overcooked. We had a deluxe spa room which was in need of renovation - I'm always amazed when premium rooms have the same tea & coffee as standard rooms - but more importantly the mattress provided no support resulting in a poor nights sleep. We rang reception to organise food from the all night menu as breakfast was not available until 6.30am & were told that the items we wanted were not available. The receptionist did organise for cereals, bread, pastries & fruit for us downstairs. We paid our bill & headed for the overflow carpark to get our car only to find that the carpark didn't open until 6.30am! Not a good start to a busy business day interstate!

Rockford Adelaide: 3.0 out of 5 stars "x"

6th February 2012, Sydney, Australia

Mixed impresssions. Desk staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Bed linen was not clean, cleaning staff were not very clean. The pool on the roof was great but again needed that touch of cleaniness and attention, towels had to be asked for and music had to be turned on by guests

Rockford Adelaide: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Good as always"

5th February 2012, Melbourne, Australia

Always a pleasure to stay at the Rockford, lovely staff, quiet, spacious rooms. A quick walk puts you in Rundle Mall. Only complaint was no ABC 1 on the telly in our room and I was too tired to call reeption.

Rockford Adelaide: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Rockford Adelaide - only thing missing is location"

28th January 2012, Canberra ACT

What a great hotel, pity it happens to be in Hindley Street where the bikies, sex and booze are plentiful. That aside the hotel offers excellent accommodation, even Apple TV and and iPad in my room! Breakfast was great, but the evening meal choices were all a little spicy because of the Asian theme. Nonetheless, I would highly recommend it.

Rockford Adelaide: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Base for the 2012 Tour Down Under"

26th January 2012, Wollongong, Australia

On the edge of the CBD, the Rockford is still handy to most things but a fair walk from the Tour village/Hilton area, and driving and finding a place to park is not an option.Foyer is OK but once you get out of the lift at your floor you're in a dingy grimy dimly lit corridor. Open the room door and everything is fine again, they are great rooms. I would have liked a freezer in the bar fridge though. WiFi worked well and the TV though slow between channels had all the new free to air stuff, as well as pay.If you dont like doof doof disturbing your sleep ask for a room at the back of the hotel, the venue across the road starts late and is loud, especially later in the week/weekend.I thought my room rate was good by comparison, until I went to check out and found that the parking that i'd been directed to downstairs was not free and I was up for another $105 - putting this hotel in the same range as others closer to the city centre.Still a good base, with secure parking, as long as you know what you're paying for up front. I booked over the internet, maybe you need to ring and talk to a person there before doing so, to get the full picture.I might be back next year, not the worst hotel I've stayed in in Adelaide for the TDU over the years by a long way, and once inside your room it's great, but i'll look at more options first.
