"Good family resort, temporarily under refurbishment"

I stayed here with wife (studio) and my son and his family (2 bed appt) using my Accor membership for 6 nights. Rate was great value (avg $85/night studio, $125/night for appt).The resort is close to the beach and has lots of great facilities for kids and adults. It is next to a small shopping centre where you can buy your basic needs and some take away food. The resort next door has a restaurant by the beach (no view). It is located not far from Margaret River wineries and coast so it is a good alternative to the overpriced hotels in that area.The studio was ok for the two of us with a kitchenette (microwave, toaster, mini fridge). It was well laid out, great bathroom with a spa, and a balcony. The appt was newly refurbished and very nice with granite benchtops, island bench, separate lounge area, washer/dryer, etc. My son's family loved it especially the 3 movie channels (free).The outdoor and indoor pool area is great for all weather conditions and worked out really well for us as the weather was cool and wet. Be aware though that at the moment the resort is being refurbished so you will hear building type noises between 8-5. This also lead to fewer car parking spaces being available.The front desk was very efficient and friendly and helpful for finding things to do in and around Busselton.The only let down for me was the cleaning of the studio was pretty woeful. They did not vacuum the floors once during our stay, and completely forgot to make the room on one day so I have to mark them down on that front.But overall I would have to say it was a very pleasant experience, especially for the price we paid.

Yet again I find myself confirming that this an excellent place to stay whilst enjoying the southwest corner of Western Australia. Staff are always friendly and helpful and the facilities clean and well maintained.View management response »

"10 days of R & R"

Resort like atmosphere - would stay here again and again. Great apartments and facilities. Great staff. Great location. Even though it was winter we used the heated pool and spa every day. Only thing to make it better would be a restaurant or cafe on site.View management response »

"great start to holiday"

what a great start to our holiday it was at Grand Mercure Busselton. The staff were helpful and friendly, great room and good facilities. We would definately stay here again and recommend. Only downside is not may eateries close by but if you have a car no problems.View management response »

"Overnight stay at the Mecure Busselton"

Great location with secure parking and very well laid out rooms. I was suprised that their was no restaurant or bar vacilities, although we only had to walk about 400 meters to the Hotel next door. Overall the stay was still enjoyable. This would be an incredible stay in the summer as it backs onto the beach.View management response »

Lovely French man on night duty, helpful. Reasonably clean but spa bath had not been cleaned properly. I'm confused as to why, when these rooms are prepaid, with nothing in the bar fridge to purchase, we still need to have a pending payment taken off the credit card or leave cash?

We found our stay at the Grand Mercure to be very comfortable. The rooms are large and well equipped. The large king size bed was divine! Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Busselton.View management response »

The staff at the hotel were excellent especially Gemma on reception Richard and Paul in maintenance. When we went to pay our bill some of the party were paying cash and others paying by card this did not phase Gemma she knew exactly what she was doing. Maintenance was called to deal with a problem we had with air conditioning and they attended within ten minuets of our call. Paul was very helpful when we hired bikes. The location of the hotel was good and my friends and myself enjoyed our stay there very much.View management response »

"Nice place with limited service"

Very comfortable spacious room and lovely beach immediately behind the hotel. No room service or restaurant on site (had a deal with resort next door but need to collect own food if want to dine in your room). Payment in full required arrival which is OK but should have been in hotel information. Studio/hotel rooms have daily service but this was limited and not indicated beforehand - no collection or cleaning of glasses/cups, no replacement shampoo, etc. Shampoo/soap provided at reception on request. Basically service meant that beds were made and towels replaced and nothing more. The apartments only have weekly service according to hotel info. Either service hotel rooms properly or not at all - not this half-baked approach.View management response »
