Centrally located in the older part of Dubai, offers low cost , quality accommodation with a Bar and restaurant , a few dirhams for taxi to the Souk markets, ideal for a short stop over.
"Good location"
17th April 2012, PhileasFogg1980, Wakefield, United Kingdom
The major plus point of this hotel is the location. Its half way up Al Rigga road so you get to sample the diversity of the restaurants and shops in both directions from the front door! its only about 200metres from Al Rigga metro station. The reception are reasonably friendly, there was one moment when the receptionist serving me was arguing with one of her colleagues at the same time! I thought she could left that argument til after I had gone! The room was adequate and there is a vending machine by the lifts which was handy for drinks. Breakfast was good with all the usual fair, maybe one or two items i expected to be on the buffet menu weren't available but overall good. The bar and cafe were good and relaxing. Taxis cost between 25-50 dirhams which wasn't too bad. Overall a good experience!!

"Good choice"
3rd April 2012
I was in town for an exhibition and booked this hotel because I had left it late, and there was nowhere affordable either close to the exhibition centre or in the old town. So I wasn't expecting much - but I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel itself was generally as expected with Ibis - fairly basic but perfectly adequate - and in some ways better than expected - hot breakfast, for example. Internet in the room - had to pay, and it seemed expensive, but 24 hours turned out to be cumulative - and free WiFi in the lobby. My main concern had been the location, but the Al Rigga metro station is about 3 minutes walk, and AED 16 gets you unlimited travel on the metro and buses all day until midnight. Direct trains from there to World Trade Centre, the Burj Khalifa, the Mall of the Emirates, and the airport. And if you want the Creek, go instead to Union interchange station, about 6 or 7 mins from the hotel. And there are plenty of places to eat and a small shopping mall right along the street from the hotel.
"Great hotel for a short stopover"
3rd April 2012, BeijingFreckleface, Beijing
The Ibis Al Rigga is conveniently located near the metro so the trip from the airport is quick and inexpensive. You should note that the metro does not open on Fridays until around 1300 (closed for prayers) so a taxi is necessary to get to the airport if you're leaving early as we needed to. Still it was a quick trip and only 13 dirhams. Bargain. The rooms at the Ibis are the standard. Like a McDonalds you know what you are getting. The surfaces are all hard and the doors are hard closing so you do get to hear those other travellers who are leaving even earlier than you. The check in and check out were quick and painless. Our only gripe is that there are no tea or coffee making facilities in the room (or complimentary water for that matter) which we feel are mandatory for weary travellers needing some quick refreshment when they arrive. The vending machines near the lifts are welcome but a cup of tea in your room after arriving can't be beaten after a long and tiring flight.
"Great location, value for money"
2nd April 2012, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Ibis hotels have always been great for budget travellers. Simple, clean, attentive staff for an affordable price. There are many restaurants, shops and beauty salons within a walking distance. Al Rigga metro station is really close too.Tip: Don't forget to use the gym! It's small, but quite nice.
"good value hotel, but with terrible service"
26th March 2012, Torun
good value hotel, but with terrible serviceReception staff has the attitude of having you wait-an-hour-and-ckeck-later after which they tell you to wait another hour. Too hard for them to call you a taxi, will ask you to wave it in the street where noone stops for you for half an hour.
"Very clean nice and friendly, and on a exellent location"
25th March 2012, Malmo, Sweden
I do only have 2 negative thing to say. The room need to be equipped with a refrigator, only a small one will be enough. Could water and drinks is a need in a hot country like Dubai. And wifi internet should be included in the room rate. 30 AED pr. hour is rather to expensive.
"Good location, clean room but poor service"
19th March 2012, Yantai, China
Hotel itself is good, convenient for transportation, easy to reach some locations via Dubai Metro, like Dubai Mall, Khalifa Tower, World Trade Center. Breakfast is just so so. Reception service is really poor, no smile, impatient, rude...
"Perfect base for exploration: nice, lean and a way better than its two stars"
15th March 2012, Kauniainen, Finland
The area is not the poshiest of the town, but quite down-to-earth with a good amount of supermarkets, restaurants, pharmacists and so on. The distance between the hotel and Al-Rigga metro station is approximately 300 meters and the line passing by this station links directly to the airport. The other metro line can be reached easily from the Union metro station 850 meters from the hotel to the opposing direction (Union is a junction where you can also change lines easily). I stayed in a standard room (no tea/coffee nor fridge, bathroom with soap/shampoo dispensers), which was comfortable, clean and spacier I had expected. In theory there is an internet connection in the room (cable), but it costs - maybe not much, but the billing plans they had seemed to be both uncomfortable and outrageous. I was informed by the hotel staff that even if I'd purchase a 24 hours connection, I would be re-charged every time I re-logged in - which would be at least every time I started the computer. I chose to use the free (slow) Wi-Fi in the lobby instead or retreat to a cafe in the Dar Sultan building by the metro station - fast speed Wi-Fi there, and it's free if you buy something (the breakfast is 15 DHS). Remember to bring your own laptop, in case theirs are all in use. The service personal was generally nice, but I retracted a point for a couple of issues I had. I had left a "Please do not disturbe" sign on the door knob for a couple of days and despite (or because of) that had a staff member call my room telephone asking when it would be ok to clean the room - I can't understand how they managed to think that calling by telephone is less of a disturbance than knocking on the door. I was having a nap and the call really startled me.There were also some difficulties when checking in. The first room they assigned me didn't open, so I had to go back a couple of times to get another. By checking out I was asked to pay extra, without providing a reason why. The only answer I got was a "price difference" between what I had paid through the AccorHotels' page and the real cost. Another staff member was called, and after a while he decided it was just an error, everything's all right, thanks and bye. They didn't give me an explanation nor a receit. Guessing from the amount of clicking it seemed that there were either a computer usability issue or a computer literacy issue present. In general, the staff was really nice and polite. Recommendable.
"The Hotel in General"
8th March 2012, Dubai
The rooms are clean, the location just perfect with every thing near by (restuarants, cafe's, metro, taxis, banks, supermarkets, and other services...etc). They have nice bar and modern. The most thing I liked is that the reception team are welcoming and friendly specially the arab nationals. The only comment I have is that the rooms are really small and not specious so I think they are not suitable for family's.
"MY READING GLASSES WAS STOLEN IN MY ROOM"
5th March 2012, Lagos
My reading glasses was stolen in my room. I forgot it in the room while i was going out but did not see it again when i came back. I complaint about it but nothing was done about it.Beside this, the room was excellent, good bed, nice gym centre. Good food was provided. The location was very close to my business venue.

Second stay in this hotel9 months after the first stay, nothing has changed, this hotel is well located and confortable although rooms are quite smalls.HOWEWER welcome to prostitution inside. From 7 PM to midnight 3 charming ladies are sitting inside the bar and fixing your eyes even you are sitting with your wife or your chidrens.I was thinking that this was not allowed by the management but regretable that prostitutes chatting with reception members and bar team...Now I understand with all rooms are booked.
"Good location"
3rd February 2012, Luxotraveller, Luxembourg
I chose this hotel since it was cheap and close to the airport, but the area was very convenient with lots of shops, restaurants and people in the street. As always with IBIS, the stay was efficient and without surprises.
"Ibis Al Rigga Review Jan 2012"
25th January 2012, Dammam, Saudi Arabia
During the check out, the reception was crowded by many guests to do the check out and desk staff was not able to handle this big number and that let me wait more than 10 minutes. I was not satisfied at all during the check out time.
