On my first stay, the experience was bad as the front desk staff has special treatment for non-Chinese. I was queuing to check out and there was an available staff but she was keeping herself busy with other things. However when a non-Chinese guest walks towards the counter for check out, she stopped what she was doing and attended to her. I asked she later why she gives priority to non-Chinese, she say she did not notice me. For this trip, their attitudes did not improve.

Wonderful caring and helpful staff, Excellent kitchen with very moderate prices. because hotel is old and my room needed renovation, cleanliness was not as wished, so ask please for one of the renovated rooms.these are great!!..the pool is fine and clean.. wireless and LAN very fast...thank you for being there!!

What a horrible place to stay in, 4 stars?!?! shouldn't be given any stars. Counter staff and managers were a disgrace at their job, no welcome, no smile, not helpful, and one of your manager seems like he doesn't really cares about his job or the guest. Extremely bad! the only staff that were courteous was the cleaning staff, every morning that would say wish you and each time they saw you on your floor they would wish you and ask how your day was. The reception staff and managers were terrible. We asked a manager for a nice place that we could go to have some local food, his response was "err, I don't know, around the corner? I am not sure? maybe a shopping center? but its not very nice." and he ended it there. Hotel room was horrible, seems like the heater was always on, cold air-conditioning was hot, though I went there during winter, I still wanted to use the air-conditioning, but just hot air. The room would get so hot that me and wife couldn't sleep, we had to open the window and waited till it cooled down so we could close the window and finally get some sleep. The worst was the toilet, extremely old, could see mold in between the grout, part of the toilet seems like it was falling off, the ceiling which one part is made of wood, was not finish painting or maybe the paint fell off, so you could see the wood, next to it was a gap which was extremely dirty and not painted just left as it is. The room door was supremely old, probably belongs in the museum, there was no pneumatic lever, so the door was hard to open and slammed really loud and fast if you didn't catch it. Their lifts had a security swipe card, which i assume guest had to swipe in order to get to their floors, which i though was great, but it didn't work and anyone could just go to any floors as they wish. It's a wonder why I am still a accord gold member, which such horrible hotels and services. If you heading to Beijing and thinking of spending the same amount of money to stay at any of the accord group hotel, just add a few more buck to your budget and stay at a nicer and proper hotel. It would be much more worth it. Also in terms of how this hotel is close to the Forbidden City & Tienanmen Square, its a 30 mins walk bare in mind, and you can never get a taxi near or at their hotel. I asked and email them prior to my stay if I could hire a limo/car from them, I still haven't gotten a reply till today, 27/12/2014, I am back home already.
Handy, good service, great breakfast, good pool and spa, close to local amenities. Suggest using the subway for a quick trip to Silk Markets, don't buy in Beijing until you do a walk through and be prepared to haggle on price, Some things will come down to 20% of what they want. Know the value of $aud vs RMB have it written on a card and pull from your pocket as you say no, works wonders.Always keep hotel address in chinese with you for help if needed

The hotel was good. The front desk manager "Pinky " made our trip ! A few challenges at check in until Pinky stepped in and the experience improved immediately. I don't recommend the restaurant at the hotel but Beijing is full of great places to dine.

Old hotel with terrible services. Breakfast is OK, people don´t speak basic English. Not customer-oriented: they almost charged me twice (both reservation and during check out). I´d hardly suggest to consider other options.

Overall the hotel is very good value - staff are very helpful and English is widely spoken. The location is close to the main sights but the only one in walking distance is the shopping Center. My only negative about the hotel is the buffet which was way over priced for the quality of the food - it has all the right ingredients to be a good resturant but they need someone who can cook

We arrived at midnight from Xian because our flight was delayed. We checked in to this hotel- the room was ready for us because it was pre-paid. The room was just okay for a 2-3 star accommodation and it was noticeable that it is already old especially in the bathroom ( which though clean, has black grouts in between most wall tiles). The aircon was also terribly very noisy as if we were just lying down beside an operating engine. I just waited till the room was acceptably cool and just turned the aircon off. I thought of requesting for a room change but I thought there's no point because we were just a few hours away from leaving the hotel, anyway. As I said, I arrived at midnight and really intended to check out early the next day. However, it could have been better if I was given an opportunity to get a deep, sound sleep even for 3 hours. I am so sad because I have been a loyal Accor members for a few years now and the first time I had a terrible stay in one of their hotels/ really not sure if they

What a welcome to Beijing, the property met all my needs and desires. Ralf the front desk manager was exceptional he made sure that my short but needed stay in Beijing is as smooth as silk. He was such a doll and enjoyed communicating with him and him personally welcoming to the area and to the address. Definitely a great choice
