My husband and I stayed for a wedding at this hotel. It is in a lovely location and has a pleasant atmosphere. Our room was comfortable and attractive. The breakfast selection was very good and the meal at the wedding was top class. The hotel had, however, some issues with service. I requested porridge and after some time a waitress came and asked "porridge?" I said yes. She proceeded to place a bacon bap in front of me. I had to explain that it wasn't porridge. Also, the bar staff at the wedding were very slow. When multiple drinks were ordered, they proceeded to fill out the order one drink at a time rather than put the glasses under the taps and fill them together. They had no change in the till and seemed generally disorganised. One staff member behind the bar refused to pass the cordial because she wasn't allowed to serve. All in all, a lovely hotel but some training is in order!View management response »

Travelled by train to Boxhill & Westhumble station and walked to hotel (10 mins max). Excellent meal in the restaurant, though quite limited choice. Woken in morning by overflowing gutter in heavy rain outside bedroom, though this did not disrupt my stay and the staff were anxious to attend to it.View management response »

16 members of my family and friends stayed in 8 rooms. We we all very pleased with the rooms, standard of service, food and friendliness of staff. We were attending a wedding at a church 1 mile away. We travelled to the hotel by car and train; the local stations are very convenient. I would not hesitate to stay at the hotel again.View management response »

The service by the staff was excellent. The beds were very uncomfortable and the sofa bed for my daughter was hard and uneven with exposed metal edges. The pillows of the main bed were too thin which made a comfortable sleep uneasy. Dinner was very good but children from the wedding party should not have been allowed to run shouting through the restaurant.View management response »

"In the shadow of Box Hill"

Nestled at the bottom of Surrey's Box Hill, this hotel provided a good experience. My wife and I were scheduled to attend a function in Leatherhead on the evening of our wedding anniversary so decided to have dinner and spend the night at The Burford Bridge Hotel. I had reserved a suite but we were allocated the Bridal Suite - appropriate! (I had not told them). Before our function, we had a cream tea in the bar area and the food was fresh. When we returned from our function and sat down for dinner, we were rewarded with attentive but unhurried service and the food was excellent. We returned to our four-poster bed for a very restful nights sleep. In the morning we were able to look out on a beautifully tended garden that is overlooked by Box Hill, a really tranquil situation, yet the fast A24 road runs close by the front of the hotel. The breakfast experience was as enjoyable as the dinner and the check out as efficient as the check in. The only mark against the hotel was that one of the bedside lamps was not working and one of the light bulbs needed replacing in the bathroom.I will recommend this hotel to anyoneView management response »

"Excellent wedding venue"

I went to friend's wedding in the adjoining Tithe Barn and the facilities were excellent (might not have been so enjoyable if you weren't one of the wedding party though!).View management response »
