"One Night Away"
16th September 2013, CharlesVinsella, Southport
Stayed in an annexe called The School Masters House which was rather nice, I have no idea what the main Hotel rooms are like. The evening meal was very good as was the breakfast. The grounds with a lake are superb. I will stay here again. They forgot to deliver my newspaper in the morning which I ordered.View management response »

The hotel was ideally situated just outside Shrewsbury. We had a discount offer from the hotel chain and it was good value. Everything at the hotel was of an excellent, or very close to it, standard. It had luxurious rooms and the staff were attentive and extremely helpful. I would recommend this hotel .View management response »

"Really Good Hotel"

HiStayed at the Albrighton Hotel and Spa in August. It was my birthday and I must have mentioned this when booking, as there was a small box of chocolates and card in my room when we arrived which was a lovely touch. The stay was really good, we had a lovely room and the food was good in the restaurant. The only thing that spoiled the stay was that we had booked facials as part of our deal. Unfortunately just before we arrived to have them, two guests started to play squash on the court just next door, which sort of ruined the ambiance, as all I could hear when waiting for the facial was the smashing of the ball and the squeak of trainers. When I got in the room, I didn't really enjoy the facial (which was good) as I was waiting for the occasional noise from the squash court. But, we mentioned this to the staff, who were very good and offered us facials at other times, which we had to refuse because we had other plans, They then made a deduction from the final bill - and were really good about our complaint throughout. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful and couldn't have done more to make our stay better - they were excellent.I would recommend this hotel, but make sure the squash court isn't being used if you want a relaxing facial.View management response »

"Overrated hotel that lets down the Accor brand"
23rd August 2013, Tassie7315, Edinburgh, United Kingdom
We always stay at Accor hotels and book through their website. Booking stated checking time was 1400. We arrived a bit after 1400 to be told that the room wasn't ready and checking time is 1500 and we could wait in the bar. We understand that rooms can't always be ready but it was the lack of an apology and being made to feel that we were the problem for being early that annoyed me. I pointed out that the booking stated 1400 only to be challenged as to who I booked through. After pointing out that we booked through the Accor website we were told that It means from 1400View management response »
Management responseDear Guest,Thank you, for your feedback. I am sorry that your rooms was not ready by 2pm, I will be looking into this matter and updating procedures in order to prevent this from happening again.Kindest regardsJane PeachFront Office Manager
"Great service and good food"

This hotel is in a quiet, peaceful location and has a good restaurant. Staff are helpful and we enjoyed a comfortable stay and a good night's sleep. WiFi is free and the speed OK but not brilliant. We found that the presence of a coach party limited availability of space in the dining room and bar but otherwise no complaints.View management response »
