Considering the cost of the room for 1 night we were disappointed. We have stayed in Cardiff mercure which had much nicer facilities and rooms. The room was small compared to the other couple we were with yet we paid the same price. There was absolutely no water pressure which meant the toilet was almost impossible to flush and the shower was awful. Just a tiny dribble. There was also hair on the bathroom floor.Very disappointed
A lovely building in a nice setting with the newer extension still incorporating generous high ceilinged rooms. We did experience a few extremes though with some staff very pleasant, and others struggling with the workload of weddings over a busy bank holiday extended weekend. Our room was fundamentally very nice, but with some tired / non working fittings, which were reported on first morning and still not fixed (just bulbs/batteries) four days later. Breakfast to usual mercure good standards, set in lovely panelled dining room. We did speak with the front of house manager on check-out who listened well, sincerely apologised and we were satisfied with her very professional and positive response, such that we will probably use this hotel again.

I initially booked for 2 nights and then had to add another day. In the second booking I explained my dilemma but on arrival discovered that none of this had been taken into account. On allocation of a room I asked if this was on the ground floor and was assured it was. However, having dragged my suitcase was up a steep staircase. The building had no lift so not an easy situation for a 70 year old lady. On visiting the Spa I discovered the pool and changing room over in by mothers and babies. Sadly no one had had posted this weekly event in either the room or entrance to the Spa. The hotel is situated in attractive grounds which warrant the provision of excellence.
Dear JAD15, I am very sorry to hear that you did not get the ground floor room you requested. If a guest is unhappy with the room we try to find another room within the different parts of the hotel to accommodate the requirement. One of our service standards is to provide luggage assistance on request. We needed accommodation prior to a funeral and have always found Albrighton great value. All too often the room offering is not matched by the food or vice versa - that's not the case here Supreme comfort, fabulous food and customer service of the highest level everywhere. PS I don't like the new bar as much as the old, but reception is greatly improved
