"Small Junior suite"

I have stayed there several times before in the more modern parts of the hotel. I asked for a junior suite thinking it would be better than a standard room. Well it is not. The room was in the old part of the hotel. Above the entrance where you have the noise of the smokers below. The room was small and in need of refurbishing. If you stay there do not bother with junior suites. My experience is that standard rooms are better.

"Great hotel and Great Staff"

We recently stayed at the Brandon Hall Hotel and had a great time there. We stayed in the Bridal suite which was fantastic, had a great meal in the restaurant which was competitively priced and the staff were helpful at all times.We have stayed at this hotel several times and always enjoyed our stay there. We would recommend this hotel to anyone and look forward to staying there again soon.....

"My stay"

i used this hotel for me and my partner as a night away. The hotel itself looks stunning but I found the room to be quite basic for a 4star. Heavy grousing in the bathroom and shabby cupboard units. The pool, coffee machine, and most beer pumps were not working either. The meal we had in the restaurant was nice but the price did not reflect what we were served. My partner asked for just steak and chips with no trimmings. Instead of giving him extra chip portions, he instead just got approx 4 chips and his huge plate looked more like a child's dinner. Perhaps he should have been asked what else he may have preferred ??!

"new years eve night"

Excellent service, staff could not be more helpful. Room was lovely, clean and tidy, bed was pretty comfortable. Food was very nice, even though it was a short menu as it was new years eve. The swimming pool, sauna and steam room was just what we both needed to chill us out from our hectic lifestyle of work and toddler, very clean and tidy. We will be returning in the future with our 19 month old son.

"Stay but eat out."

The hotel the bar and reception staff were great,but the restaurant was not.We were on a dinner B&B break my wife complained about here dinner and the waiter thought it was funny not the best way to treat a customer! we did get a reduction on our bill but it did spoil what could have been a great stay. Also breakfast was not any better the food was OK but in short supply.

Only complaint was the variable quality of the "Gourmet" chips. When they were good they were very good, but I've stayed at this hotel a few times now and they are more often undercooked and disappointing.

Excellent hotel with good, staff, facilities, and value for money

Hotel room was good, as was the breakfast. Spa treatment and half board included. Starter and dessert was good. My wifes pasta was stodgy and inedible which I bought to the attention of the Restaurant Manager, next table also complained. My sea bass was lovely but mash potato was cold. We had two treatments at the Spa which lasted 20 minutes instead of 30. Good value overall but go for bed and breakfast only. Good service apart from The Restaurant manager who brushed off my complaint.
