"EXCELLENT SERVICE"
6th March 2013, Drifter43
The Mercure in Exeter is a very well run hotel with a helpful team and all the facilities needed for a short stay including good wifi. It may lack individual character but more than makes up for this with its efficiency, cleanliness, friendly staff and excellent breakfast...!
"Wonderful stay"

This hotel is highly recommended by myself and partner. The hotel was beautiful and looked very expensive but the price was very reasonable. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was spotless and the bed was VERY comfy! We stayed on new years eve, and even with the vast amounts of noise from happy new year well-wishers, the room was silent! The hotel is very close to princess hay shopping centre, the cinema, and several restaurants (one of which is Strada, which served wonderful food!). A fantastic stay is assured!! I am going to be going again, I assure you!
"Pleasant surprise"

This hotel is definitely one of the better Mecure-brande dhotels I've stayed in in the UK. The ambience of the hotel is very pleasnat and the staff are keento be helpful. We stayed ina 3rd floor superior double room - my only criticism is that for a stated recently refurbished room there were on or two signs of wear (not many) in the decor - but overall we were pleased with hte room, and withe view out towards the cathedral. The price was actaully very reasonable - a 4* experience for less than 20% more than a less well placed Premier Inn....I recommend this hotel.
"Solo Stay at Christmas"

I travel alot with work so stay in alot of hotels, this in my opinion shows signs of a 4 star hotel with little competition in the area. Attention to subtle details was lacking, rooms were average and service was not great.Upon check-in it transpired that a call I made extending my stay (bringing it forward) had not been logged in the system - lucky there were still rooms. Was also then told I'd have to pay more for the extension than quoted on call as was last minute - humph.Rooms are 'ok' but a bit dated. Single glazed glass made it quite noisy for sleeping, pillows were very hard and lacked niceties such as a pen in room lol.Annoyed that had to pay an additional £10/night for parking. In all, a great location, nice pool, but service and room let it down.
