Mercure London Staines-upon-Thames Hotel: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Thorpe Park Break"

23rd May 2012, 999Jules, Norwich, United Kingdom

I booked a package for a one night stay including 2 tickets to Thorpe Park. the hotel was friendly and welcoming and we feel we definately received value for money knowing the cost of the park tickets. The breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice and would recommend this package to others.

Mercure London Staines-upon-Thames Hotel: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Take another look at Staines!"

11th May 2012, loolooNorwich, norwich

Had a trip to Hampton Court planned and this hotel was convenient. Chose the Dinner bed and breakfast option at just 89.00. On arrival I questioned what was included to be told I had only booked 1 adult! My mistake but the manager said it was a quiet night and if we ate in the bar the second person would be included free of charge. So we got 2 x 3 course meals @ £28 each, the room (very nice overlooking the Thames) and breakfast for £89.00 wow what a bargain......a walk along the Thames for an hour was wonderful too. All in all a great stay will def go again.....

Mercure London Staines-upon-Thames Hotel: 3.0 out of 5 stars "An average small hotel, with friendly staff but a bit dated."

8th May 2012, cjg1980, Swansea, United Kingdom

We decided to pay for the "Privileged" room based on the photo of the 4 poster bed, when we got to the room we were disappointed with no 4 poster and the rooms looked a bit scruffy compared to the online pictures. We were also staying with friends, who paid for the cheapest available room - and to be honest apart from us having patio doors and they just had a window we could not really see where this extra money was going! Not really what we're used to with Mercure! We cant comment on the restaurant or any services as we didn't use it, instead we ate out as it was a lot cheaper, both for dinner and breakfast! The centre of Stains was only a 2-3 min walk away to find the local pubs and restaurants. Although Staines, as lovely as it was?? there isn't much to do - so if your using it as a base to go into Central London then it's probably ideal.Make sure you get a room well away from the train line bridge, we were woken up in the morning by the rumble of trains over the bridge - you could feel the vibrations through the building and we were quite a way away from it - probably not a good idea for light sleepers. In summary - an average small hotel, with friendly staff but a bit dated. Don't pay any more for a "better" room than the standard cheapest room - it's not worth it. Eat out of the hotel if you prefer a bit more value for money!

Mercure London Staines-upon-Thames Hotel: 5.0 out of 5 stars "best of all worlds"

4th April 2012, Graham W, Southampton, United Kingdom

We have been staying at this hotel for over 10 years now. On the Riverside, you have the Idyllic Thames & walks into the countryside. On the Townside is the best shopping around & a fantastic selection of bars & restaurants. The main benefit though is the ease in reaching London & Theatreland for what, for us, is the icing on the cake,.

Mercure London Staines-upon-Thames Hotel: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Short Break in Staines"

7th July 2011, Bradford

The hotel is ideally placed, staff were always pleasant and very helpful. We had a lovely room, facing the river, the bed was very comfortable. We would stay here again, the breakfast was very good, though at busy times some items did run out and the staff had all on to keep up with demand, but they battled through the rush admirably. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Mercure London Staines-upon-Thames Hotel: 4.0 out of 5 stars "Great Hotel"

19th March 2011, Galashiels

This is an excellent Hotel with very friendly staff. Located on the Thames riverside, it is a 12 minute bus trip from Heathrow Airport to the bus station 200 yards from the hotel. The rooms are clean with good facilities provided. Breakfast food was excellent, well cooked and hot, though a short wait may be required while the buffet is replenished.I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Mercure London Staines-upon-Thames Hotel: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Fantastic hotel"

27th December 2010, Worthing

2 days and nights in a lovely clean room with very comfortable bed. Nice clean bathroom, lots of clean fluffy towels. Great breakfast buffet and excellent evening meals. Stayed here many times and the staff are always very helpful and friendly. Great position across the road from large shopping centre and on the bank of the river Thames. Perfect spot for a great hotel.

Mercure London Staines-upon-Thames Hotel: 5.0 out of 5 stars "Dec 2010 Room 7"

20th December 2010, Kingston

We had a river view room which was excellent, we couldn't fault the service. The restaurant menu was a great improvement on our previous stay as there was more choice for people with food allergies. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.

Mercure London Staines-upon-Thames Hotel: 3.0 out of 5 stars "Marginal hotel"

15th November 2010, minneapolis

The room was okay but tight for a suite to sleep 2 adults and 1 teenager. The price we paid was high $300/ night for only the room. No breakfast included in that price and even wifi was $15/24 hours. We never recieved room service just clean towels each day. it was only about a mile walk to the train station and just a few blocks into town.
